Why don't URLs open in a new window anymore?
I am using Netscape 7.
I used to be able to click on a link in a thread, and it would open in a new window. Now, when I click on it, it uses the same window, and I have accidently closed my browser entirely, when I am through with the external link.
I was just curious about the change, I can get used to the new way, although I wouldn't mind the old way coming back, either.

The way vBulletin's [URL] tag opens in a new window has not changed. Perhaps Netscape 7 has difficulty handling the 'target' attribute, or maybe the links you're clicking on were written using HTML and not vB code.
vB Code:
This link should open in a new window.
HTML:
<a href="http://www.dvdtalk.com/">This link should <b>not</b> open in a new window.</a>

I believe it is that some of the links were in HTML, since many of them are opening in new windows. I guess I will just have to be more careful when closing a window.
