Super Long URL's?

Is there any way to link very long URL's in vBulletin? It seems to automatically add in line breaks where they don't belong.

<a href="http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?%20mapdata=3Y5TK1Lw1y9wOyx1XheZidRgb%2bi1pppz5E%2bzlAzEvRi34v5wP4Gu9HT0GeeZbR9dKxWCE%2b0caWL UkAu9Mqp1AH%3Cbr%20/%3E%20DEFy6rHu8HWtJ5cWU6UoWszQIup9DVpxUXl3PZzLYY3Sf%2fYSeG%2f3Ab8uvUIIfQQiUCDhem8%2fx28zlI9EpphSjTtx ipelhv%3Cbr%20/%3E%20b15zxJ3vSkLTMOn99YZTYSnV702wHBjLYLpYclwAr1nDz44kxW5I0DbbY3zduP4kH%2ffDIKLimQlEnC86Mi%2f%2f21Rk jb4eVf%3Cbr%20/%3EtS0A%3d%3d">e.g., look at this link location</a>.

vBulletin developer Freddie Bingham sez:

"Change your wordwrap setting (in the Admin CP Options) to something longer than the URL in question or disable it by setting it to 0."

Looks like something Geoff would have to change, but there is a solution.

Too bad it's a pretty lame solution. Thanks.

If you uncheck the "Automatically parse URLs" box its easily cut and pastable. Works for me.

Well

1) that's really messy

and

2) The copy only works up to the end of the second line

Why not just wrap it with [url] tags?

Because whether you do that or href it, vBulletin inserts the line breaks, as if it were text.

Why not just make it an HTML link?

For the same exact reason Aghama specified above, LBPound. If it goes in the textbox -- regardless of the presence of HTML or vB Code -- it will be wrapped that way.

You could always try a mapping provider that doesn't use such ridiculously long URLs. URLs of maps from MapBlast! render fine.

The link in his first post seems to work fine. I guess I'm misunderstanding the problem here.

Just because the link goes somewhere doesn't mean it's working as intended. URL-encoded HTML line breaks are being inserted into the URL.

The only reason I was using mapquest was due to the aerial photo feature. I suppose I could just use Terraserver, but it's kind of a pain in the ass.

Plus, it's a bug.
