Name change request

I read the forum sticky and realize this isn't always done for 1000+ posters, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Basically these days I'm thinking kenny79 is fairly lame, for starters because the character's not even on South Park anymore. I chose it when I signed up just cuz I was a fan of the show, and I'm not as much anymore. And the 79 part (I was born in 1979) is pretty lame too.

I'd like to have it changed to milton, which is an anagram of my last name (you Rushmore fans already knew that ). And also it's an Office Space reference, which I know will bug the hell out of Jules. And I'm fine with having "formerly known as kenny79" as my location -- I was planning on leaving it that way for a couple months to avoid confusion (I don't even think I'm that well known as far as multi-thousand posters go).

Anyway, if there's any discussion, whether in this thread or via email, I'll check both regularly. Thanks for your consideration.

I tried a day or so BEFORE the new rules were put up and had my name changed back. And I really wanted to be Stay-Puft.

Oh well...

I'm wondering if it'll be changed or not -- any discussion among mods/admins? Just wonderin' . . .

Name changes are outside the scope of my "powers". That's an admin type thing.

It's at the top of the agenda for our annual retreat. You'll get the telegram if it gets changed.

Spoiler:
Don't count on it

How about a typography fix? I didn't know you could have spaces in your name when I signed up three years ago, which is why my name is all ran together. I'd prefer it to be Josh Hinkle but it's not a big deal as I've been stuck with joshhinkle for over three years.

As have we.

You might be able to get that. Again, we'll have to take it up at our retreat at the Bohemian Grove. Since they don't have phones or other communications stuff there we'll have to send out a messenger to let you know.

Why not just retire this name and register a new one?

Well, he can't really "retire" his own account, and having multiple accounts is against the rules. So that probably wouldn't have the effect he was hoping for.

kenny79,

Unless you really hate your user name, we'd really prefer to leave it as is. We're trying to keep name changes on long time members to a minimum because when lots of people start doing it, it makes it hard for both members and moderators to keep track of whom they're talking to.

If you'd like to argue your case further, feel free to email me or Randy or X.

Josh,

As stated in the rules, a minor change is fine. Going from joshhinkle to Josh Hinkle is minor enough. I'll be changing it after I make this post. Unless someone's already got that name.

The real problem with name kenny79 is the numbers at the end. I suggest that you get the admins to change it weekly, first to kenny78, then kenny77, then kenny76, and so forth. That way people will be ready, after a year and a half, for your new name kenny.
