Search function not working?
I searched for adaptec, nero, dvdtalk, sopranos, and simpsons... None of them worked. Closed browser and tried again jsut to make sure it wasn't my error.

So I made this thread, and Blade found it pretty easily it seems. And Caiman, if you read this, yes it is amazing. But true. The search really didn't pull up anything relevant to my question.

I typed <b>army</b> and <b>darkness</b>, set it to look in DVDTalk (main) forum only, selected the radio button for thread subjects only and gave a timescale of three months.
It came up with three hits the last of which was the one Blade found.
Sometimes you need to tweak the search parameters. Yes, sometimes it still <i>is</i> a little flakey but you can nearly always find something if it is there....

Hey Tom,
As benedict mentioned, the search function can be a little quirky.
Did you use the search link at the top of every page, or the search box you can find at the bottom right of every page with a thread list on it? That one searches only the forum you are in and for any date.
Also, the search engine requires at least 3 characters per word, so a better search would have been army darkness with no "of". There's a short guide in the FAQ thread in this forum.
Hope that helps you out in the future.
As has been said in the past, search engines come in all shapes and sizes, some easier to use than others. Keeping in mind that the really good ones cost actual money (
) this search engine is a compromise, but it also returns results very quickly and usually (well, in my experience) fairly accurately.
