I am curious too, but there was already a thread asking why it was closed and that thread got closed, so this one might also.

From: Work. Or commuting. Certainly not at home.
I was kinda wondering myself why it was closed...

Yeah, what's up with that. I'm always in favor of closing threads started by c-man, but seriously ... when a mod closes a thread for no obvious reason, he should at least take the time to say why.

I didn't close it, but my guess is the lack of content/room for discussion. The first post has no content. What kind of discussion can the topic generate?

"I just asked him, he said no."

"I swear I saw him at McDonald's ordering a Big Mac."

If it was meant to be serious, I can see the limited potential. After all, the Bible talks of him sharing fish & bread, but never T-bone steaks. What else is there to say?

I opened it to reply, actually, not realizing it was closed.

There actually is some debate on this subject, so it COULD be a serious discussion.

Jesus was probably not ovo-vegan or anything, because of the "fish" bit, but if he HAD been vegetarian, that would have been "out of line" of the normal population then.

And so on, but this isn't that thread.

Somehow, I thought it was a better overall topic than "I ate lunch at my desk today" or "How many pickles have you eaten in your lifetime" or something like that.

It can generate as much discussion as most of the threads that appear on the Other Forum.

There have been numerous threads quoting certain scriptures of the Bible to support or oppose certain positions others have taken. That, in itself, generates discussion.

It was meant to be a serious discussion, and there is some debate on the subject among theologians, or those claiming to be such.

The first I ever heard of the "debate" was on CBN.

I must admit, I find it hard to understand why "Was Jesus a vegetarian" was closed, but:

Thread: petition to install a salad bar in 'other'

is considered a discussion topic.

(no offense to that topic, of course, it might be fun to participate, just like Keyser's bar, etc.)

Easy fix: if anyone really cares, just start a new thread that looks like you're actually looking for a discussion.

Easier fix: I will reopen the thread that I closed. I recall the sarcastic and worthless threads created by the author in the past, and I assumed it was another. I apologize if I was wrong.

If, however, the reason for the thread was an attempt to point out the mundane and stupid posts found in Other, I will gladly close or delete it. Classicman, you can't deny that you like to do that sometimes. Your initial post "Just Wondering!" certainly didn't make me believe that the thread in question was any different.

How about an explanation of why it was closed in the first place?
