Time for an "all DVD coupons" sticky thread?
Just an opinion, but the coupon section of the site could use an updating, with possibly an active source of coupons.
Here is what I was thinking of:
Make a sticky thread in “DVD Bargains” for coupons. Invite people to post coupons that they know about in the thread. The moderator can then update the main post on a daily basis or every other day so that there is a running list of active coupons. Give the moderator the power to modify the coupons section of the site, and let the mod update that section once or twice a week (so at any one time there would be two complete lists of coupons, one in the thread and one in the Coupon section). Problems with coupons could also be reported in the thread as well as recently defunct coupons, active coupons, and identifying which active coupons are new.
One key here would be to make the overseer a moderator so that he can actively delete posts to the thread so that it never has more than five or ten posts (nice and short), so that people know that the master list is the most up to date list around and that all posts in the thread are new and relevant.
To make life a little easier, the moderator could limit the coupons only to stores that sell DVDs, plus a select few additional stores (like bookcloseouts.com or other stores affiliated with DVDTalk).
Also, one time use coupons would not be in the thread (so we don’t have another one of the monster Amazon threads).
Here is a new coupon, incidentally: Towerrecords: Top100 ($5 off $50), good on line, on phone orders, or in b&m stores. Coupon cannot be combined or used with other offers.
