How about entering yourself and a sibling who lives in the same house? Is that not permitted? I have done that before, I didn't know it was one entry per household. Is it?

If there's any interest, I can write a script so that future contest entries can be tied to DVD Talk accounts.

If you could see the backend you'd understand how easy it is to distinguish between legit entries and fraud.
And yes... it's ONE per person, not household. So each person in your household can sign up. All I can say is I recommend that each person ACTUALLY sign themselves up.

I'm not going to get into the details of HOW we prevent fraud (as then it would be easier for people to cheat) but I can say we've got it down to a science and people who try to abuse our giveaways ARE generally caught.

i think there might have been a couple of contests i entered twice just cuz i wasnt sure if i had acutally entered (this was a long time ago), but i never won
it might actually be better for the site if you tie entries to users. That would encourage more people to sign up as users and would increase your membership for advertisers

2 Quick Questions
This may be in the wrong forum so i'll apologise in advance
1- Can you enter competitions more than once ?
2-Anyone here ever won a dvd as ive tried and tried and havent won one yet ...[sorry for whining, but im very curious about the selction of winners] maybe there should be a trivia question about the movie/dvd instead

1. No.
2. I did, back in Sept. '99, a few months before I was made a moderator.
In order to keep this stuff consolidated in a single thread, I've merged your thread with one we had just a week or so ago that covered your first question. So read the previous posts to learn more about how the contests are handled here.
And good luck in the future!
