Posting pix on the forum...

Is there a thread that explains how to post pix (that you take yourself) directly into a forum topic.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers but I have a digital camera & wanted to post a pic on the forum. If there isn't a thread on how to do this, can someone quickly explain how to do it. I will delete this thread if needed after the answer is given.

Thanks for your help!

That took me a few tries.

If you need further explanation of the above, then I apologize in advance.

I get your meaning but I was talking about a picture I took myself.

If I use my digital camera & take a picture & want to post it directly in the thread, how is that done? I was trying to get around posting a link. Or does what you typed above do just that & is not a link? (in the thread that is)

If that is the case, where do send or place my picture to be able to put it here? Am I making any sense?

You have to find a place to actually host the pic for you. You can't have it read it right off of your hard drive here. You then link with IMG tags to the site that is hosting it. Recently it's become harder and harder to find a site to host it that you could link to and have the actual pic come up and not the red X.

It is a Vbulletin option to allow embedding files/pics directly from you when you post. Geoff has it disabled, which makes 100% sense.

P.S. Moving to Forum Feedback Forum Forum.

What a use of bandwidth, crap, I can picture people linking EVERYTHING all of the time. Not to mention, an open invitation to hackers.

So, where does everyone go to find a place where they can upload pics & then put them here without the red x?

You know, for the life of me I can't figure out if that last post was being sarcastic or not.

Most Internet Service Providers provide 5-10 MB of webspace with your account. If you don't know how to access that space, try calling them and asking where to upload your files.

I find this infinitely preferrable to dealing with "free" picture hosting services that go down, remove your pictures, or go bankrupt.
