Geoff, I present you with this petition.

http://www.petitiononline.com/dvdtalk/petition.html

The people have spoken, Geoff. I have scraped together 50 votes to make me a mod for the day by blackmailing, money laundering, beatings, and good ol fashioned torture. Now, this is just for a day mind you. If, however, you like what I do for that day, I am willing to take on a full time modship with benefits. And I know that sometimes a name or two will appear twice on the petition but just ignore that and count them as seperate votes. Well, I'll give you time to peruse the petition and if you could contact me as soon as possible that would be great. I look forward to working alongside you and the mods.

P.S.-This is purely a joke thread. However, if you(Geoff) want to take it seriously, I got no problem with that unless you seriously deny me. Jokingly denying me though is okay.

21661 registered members and the best you can do is 50 signatures???

Come back when you have 2150 or so. Surely you can get 1 in 10 to support you, right?

You mean I have to get signatures outside the other forum? Aw, forget it.

Jules,

Thank you for your petition.

In the 2 plus years of running DVD Talk I've always listened to the words of DVD Talk members. Bent my iron will to fit their needs.

Now it looks like you've swindled at least 5 real people to join you on a campaign to be a mod. I applaud your efforts, it shows the strength and power of democracy and the efficacy of banding together with a common goal.

We should all take a moment to appreciate the great freedom we enjoy here in this United States of America. Why our forefathers fought hand in hand to create a place were we could be free from oppression, free to say whatever we want, when ever we want, how ever we want to whom ever we want.

We live in such a country where you can stand atop your roof tops and exclaim 'I LOVE MELONS' and fear not of oppression or persecution. You can walk into a crowded theater and tell everyone they should have waited for the DVD and probably not be arrested, or at least have the government protected freedom to eat a nine dollar bag of popcorn at a nine dollar movie and watch it out of focus with some idiot talking behind you.

Thank God for these and more freedoms, and God bless America.

PS. Nice Try Jules....

May the wings of liberty never lose a feather.

America: Aint it grand? Tear.

P.S.-Geoff, I'm glad you replied to my query but I will continue to campaign. Maybe the misty eyes of those who have signed will haunt you until you can't take it no more. You'll wake up in a pool of your own sweat, asking yoself why you denied the people their leader of choice. When that day comes, I will be here.

This is just great, it is all the better when our fearless leader lets his normal conservative guard down.

Nice response Geoff...that is almost as funny as the time you posted the most bought porn dvds from dvdtalk members.

If I remember correctly some member was complaining about porn deals in a thread or something.

Jules, I have been shedding tear after tear for you over this post by our leader. However, I can't help but to feel a little joy in my heart. Had you become a moderator this place would have fallen apart. One day is all you would need to destroy this great community. Oh, I am so glad that Geoff has made sure that he will protect this place against the wishes of a tiny minority.

Yes, this does mean that my signature should be repealed from your petition. I only signed it because you complimented me. I don't think people can accept any form of "payment" for signing a petition...that just doesn't make sense. You can have your compliment back too.

well now what do i do-
First i tried to become a Mod by joining the padding with the hopes that the increased volume of posts would cause Geoff to realize the need for more Mods opening a position for me.

Then I tried to become a Mod by convincing a naive young college student to post his fantasies online in the hope that Geoff would realize the need for more Mods opening up a postion for me.

Then I figured I would start a petition to become a Mod in the hopes that Geoff would realize that he needed me thus opening up a position for me- thanks for ruining that one Jules.

Now what should I do?
Maybe become a contributing member of Dvdtalk helping others with no thoughts towards what effect it might have on my chances to be a Mod. Knowing that I was helping Other would be reward enough!

Spoiler:
"yeah that just might work", snickers gcribbs rubbing his hands together

Great Post by the way Geoff

Spoiler:
I am just telling a bad joke- i do not even know shaggy

Here's an idea - Let's pick a day for Jules to be an honorary mod. How about September 7th? Seems like a good day.

Then you suspend him for a week on the 6th. (nyuk, nyuk)

The petition is up to 65. I signed it and I'm a real person. But this one gave me a giggle. Ronald Epstein signed it, and his comment says "We've been trying to make Jules a mod over at Home Theater Forum for months now." Somebody made a funny.
