With every online DVD purchase I make, I want to ensure that DVDTalk gets the credit for the sale to say THANK YOU!!

So besides clicking on this site's affiliate links, is there anything I should be watching for in the URLs to make sure that DVDTalk gets their cut? I keep seeing this string of numbers at Amazon, for example:

104-7359943-6831128

I assume that this is how Amazon knows where a purchase came from? And that other Amazon affiliates all have their own codes?

That number is actually associated with your cookies, not with any of Amazon's affiliates. Amazon is the easiest site to make a DVD Talk link with, that I know of.

Here's how. Doing a search for Cast Away, for example, this is the URL I get: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...070908-4420762. To make that a DVD Talk affiliate link, delete everything after B00003CXRP/. The address now looks like: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00003CXRP/. Now, add dvdtalk after the last /, so the address now looks like: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...03CXRP/dvdtalk. That is the DVD Talk link for Cast Away at Amazon. Do the same for any product you buy at Amazon (DVD or other type of product).

Most of the other sites have codes hidden in the URL or something, so it's easiest to just click the link to those stores at the top of the page.
