Topic: An example of why lawyers get a bad name
Why was this thread closed? Check it out, it's quite tame.

As you can see, it's just members giving their point of view. There was no explosion imminent. No one was shooting up the place.
This is very disappointing development. Has TALK gone timid?

He was asking members of the forum to help him get back at someone on another forum.
While I appreciate his situation, we do not allow members to use our forums to generate attacks on other web sites.

Er, I was surprised by this, too. I saw the original "maybe you guys could help me with this troll," but after it got 24 replies and no one was "helping him" by attacking the troll, and the discussion had moved to other things - I thought it was apparent that that suggestion was being ignored.
Perhaps the more closely tailored method of administration would have been to delete the "please help me with this troll" comment in the original post?
Still, I thought closure was separately justifiable on another ground: the conversation had moved back to a discussion of the fence topic, which was redundant with the <i>first</i> thread on that topic.

I've gone back and edited and reopened the thread.

I think there's a valid issue to be discussed (separately from <b>carp</b>'s fence problem, which has its own thread, of course.)
