On the main page, the rightmost column - the date and time of the last post - is virtually useless. The only reason anyone would care is because they're looking to see which threads have been responded to, and it's impossible to remember the exact time of the last response for a thread, anyway.
It'd be a lot more useful - especially for the debate threads and running conversations - to list who last posted to a thread.

I personally find the last time somewhat useful, but given a choice between "Thread Starter" and "Last Reply By", I'd go for the latter.

Yeah, I know you can do both with vBulletin (long-time vBulletin user
), but the forums at vBulletin.com look too cluttered for my tastes.

Ask and ye shall receive. Nice suggestion David.

When we have these debates, I spend a while writing a response - editing it, making sure it makes sense, even re-reading it to zap the occasional typo.
It's then rather frustrating to watch the thread closely for a response. It's even more frustrating when I do this in a lot of different threads. And because the "red folder/yellow folder" thing is... er, not even remotely accurate
, I end up re-entering the thread a few times and seeing no new responses. This simple change would help a lot.Thx again, gkleinman and namja!
