Titanic: Special Edition
I just saw this at http://www.davisdvd.com/news/spy.html
Titanic
According to Italian home theater magazine AF Digitale, 20th Century Fox may be in the process of finally releasing the long-awaited Titanic: Special Edition in early 2005. Details are still a bit sketchy, but the magazine reports that the film will receive a mega four-disc set featuring a new DTS ES 6.1 audio track. Of the extras, expect commentaries, deleted footage and mountains of other bonus material. Keep in mind that nothing official has been announced yet. But the fact that it is being reported by a major European publication is good news. My only hesitation is the "early 2005" timeframe. A DVD project of this magnitude would take a good amount of time and planning. For an early 2005 release date, this thing must be in production already, or even nearing completion. So if it has been in production for some time, why haven't we heard rumblings about it until now? Stay tuned for more information if, and when, it is revealed. Thanks to Andrea Alfonso for the scoop.

Star Trek: Enterprise
I also found this at http://www.davisdvd.com/news/spy.html
Enterprise
Paramount Home Entertainment UK has scheduled Enterprise: The Complete First Season for release on May 9th 2005. The underdog series, which takes place a good century before the adventures of Kirk and Spock, stars Scott Bakula and Jolene Blalock. The Region 2 set will include all twenty-six episodes in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras have yet to be announced, however. Retail will be £67.99. Look for Season Two to be released on June 6th and Season Three on August 1st.
It should be noted that all the release dates listed above are on a Monday and not on a Tuesday.

Went to a screening of The Warriors last night at the Egyptian, Walter Hill did a Q&A and mentioned that he had been interviewed for a Warriors special edition. He also said that there might be a slight alteration to the film, he always wanted the movie to start with the text: "Sometime in the Future."

Is there any news on a Poltergeist SE? I would really like to have this and its not as if this movie doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. I'm really trying to hold off from buying the current disc but I know that was a s popular as this will be getting an SE for sure.
Also Blade Runner, have there been any developments on that? The current disc is pretty abysmal. Audio is shoddy and the transfer is one of the worst I have in my collection, its only because this is my favourite movie that I have it.

Now that ARTHUR 2 is arriving in February, is there any mention of a re-issue of the original film in anamorphic widescreen?
I so hate the current full-frame edition as it's the same transfer that they used on LaserDisc release.

Also, for future reference, this is the re-release thread. You might get better response by posting a new thread.

Consider Chinatown to be a likely re-issue on DVD. The evidence:
Last month it had its 30th anniversary re-screening in L.A. in a gala soldout event.
Newly struck 35 mm print was used and the reports were that it looked wonderful.
The current disc's (after years of being a pretty pricey single disc offering) price dropped like a rock this year.

Universal has announced that it's going to be re-releasing Back to the Future: The Complete Trilogy on 1/25 at the new low price of just $27.98. The good news about this is not just the price - the set will contain the V2.0 discs, featuring corrected aspect ratio versions of the films.
