This link should go to last year’s theme construction post: https://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-talk/6...l#post13379375
"Subjective Camera" Horror: (has POV shots; shows what a character is looking at, represented through the camera)
https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?...ef_=kw_ref_gnr (496 titles)
I'd like to see more changes to the checklist and think the following are better checklist additions/replacements than theme days (maybe under the 'select 30').
Nepotism Dynasty (horror films with actors that are family members, blood-related or adopted) [maybe add or through marriage]
https://letterboxd.com/holliehorror/.../genre/horror/ (56 titles)
Dear Diary (diary or journal left behind to tell a harrowing, horrific tale):
https://letterboxd.com/holliehorror/...-diary/detail/ (56 titles)
Shot in Bronson Canyon: (Wikipedia):
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?gen...&view=advanced (54 titles)
[Takes Place in...] Pasties, G-Strings, & Chainsaws - Strip Club Horrors:
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls062951439/ (80 titles)
https://letterboxd.com/profondo_ross...-clubs/detail/ (86 titles) (166 total titles)

Because I was bored at work I'm listing some hallmark days occurring during the month of October into Trevor's calendar and possible related themes; not that anything has to tie in but for what it's worth...
Apparently there are a lot of Civil War battles fought during October 155 years ago and World War 2 naval battles 80 years ago (not listed) so if war related horror stuff is an idea that could tie in.

I like the idea of war horror. There are so many good war related horror films.

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2019 Horror Challenge
Hey everyone, I've been working on the pre-challenge thread for awhile now, and the plan is to have it up before the end of the month. I know there's been some requests to have it up even earlier, but I've just had too much going on lately for that to happen. And honestly, May might have been a bit overkill. Just my opinion. But putting it up now will give us about an extra month, so that should be a big help.
And I know there's still some that think we already do this too early. Well, with the forum declining the way has over the years, I can assure you it's necessary. Not to mention, the January forum update has already proven to be a future pain in the ass that will continue to be so until I get the main thread up, and this also gives me a little extra time to deal with that.
Anyway, I might not have everything up right away with less time to prepare, but it'll all be up in due time. It'll just be a little sloppy at first.

Let me give this another shot...
Would it be too early if I went ahead and put up the pre-challenge thread?

Three months doesn't seem too early. Based on the past few years, most people know it's been going up early. I don't see why not. When does the traffic pick up around here?

Broken record, but not too early. Would be great to have it 100% complete by August 1 to give us two months to track down and order the subset films.

That's all I need to hear. I just have to make a few last-minute fixes and should have it up tomorrow night.
It just depends. The ones who don't frequent the forum year-round usually just sporadically show up as we get into it. The rest right before the actual challenge begins.

I don't know if I ever shared my 2018 montage here, so if ya'll don't mind some shameless plugging, here it is:
