Joe Bob Briggs said this was the worst movie that was ever shown on Monstervision. And yes, I would say that this even beats out Howling 7.

I think I heard the winning movie quote of the month tonight. 'Marines have no qualms about killing martians!'. I was watching the remake of Invaders From Mars, on Epix Drive-In. I tried watching it earlier this month, but turned it off. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for a movie at the time. I really enjoyed it tonight.

The Howling 7 is that special kind of inept that makes it incredibly entertaining though

I figured that the frogs suffocated Ray Milland's character by their sheer bulk, unless there are man-eating frogs in Florida. We DO get an animated frog with a human hand in its mouth after the final credits roll, but it's not quite as satisfying as seeing Ray Milland being devoured onscreen would have been. I'm not sure why I like Frogs as much as I do; maybe it's because Sam Elliott was so incredibly sexy back in the day.

Ray Milland must have had an awful agent or squandered his money because he seems to have made a lot of drive-in crap in the 70s, along with guest spots on The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.

I managed to stumble on this one on SyFy a few years ago. I came in mid-movie, and didn't realize the guy was in a wheelchair, as all the action was taking place in close-up. There was this action scene where the dude was watching the monster outside through the window. The scene kept flashing from his view to outside, and you never saw that he was in a wheelchair. It was pretty funny as the intensity of the scene was ramping up, and finally after about 5 minutes, we pan out and see he's stuck in a wheelchair. My wife immediately said this guy was screwed. It's a pretty fun movie and MVD has a blu that I've heard looks pretty good.

Exactly! I've never seen a movie before where he was young. Wow, he was something.

I think I'm going to work in Apostle (2018) tonight. Just out on Netflix. It looks amazing and I like Dan Stevens. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6217306/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Superbeast was bad, but Howling 7 is a whole new level of bad. I consider Howling 7 the worst horror film ever.

Everybody should just stop after Howling 2. And that's only worth watching for 2 reasons:

1. Sybil Danning:

2. This awesome song:

Watch the shower scene in The Legacy. (Also in Lifeguard, but that's not horror related). Yowza! He had a backside as fine as Italian marble.

I really liked Milland in all his cranky glory in Frogs. It was a real highlight of movie that really could have been much better. Don't get me wrong I really love Frogs, but I wanted a little more....

Regarding Sam Elliot, I really thought he was fantastic in The Hero.

That's weird, because I watched The Legacy maybe 6 months ago and didn't particularly remember Sam Elliott in it! I Googled some pics and I think it's because he had the big moustache in The Legacy. Clearly, I'm not a fan of moustaches. Possibly The Frogs is the first time I've ever seen him clean shaven.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Discopath has an outrageous premise of a killer triggered by disco music but is handled in such a subtle way it's quiet a good thriller, it's the best kind of pastiche filmed in a vintage looking soft style and handled in a way that even the most campy over the top kill segment is engaging. There is an enthralling use of sound without a lot of frivolous dialogue and lots of background music punctuated by periods of silence. It reminds me a little of The Editor, another homage handled well enough to be engaging in isolation. I checked if it was streaming anywhere and didn't see anything for it but if you can find it Discopath is worthwhile.

I'm at the point in the challenge where I'm looking for offbeat comedies that are a bit more upbeat, I cannot say Discopath was it given it was a bit more intense/gorey.

Just finished Slasher.com (2017) where a couple on a first date end up at a B&B run by psycho hillbillies. A few curve balls along the way makes this flick watchable. 2.5/5.

Finally caught Mandy and it lives up to the hype and then some--super stylized, beautifully shot, emotionally powerful score ... a top of the list contender for sure.

Disembodied (1998) was a strange one. Take a little Cronenburg/Henenlotter body horror and add some Eraserhead influence to the mix. Can't quite say if I actually liked it, but absolutely appreciate it just for being so bloody unique. Will definitely revisit it soon with the B&W version for comparison sake.

I forget what preceded that one, but it obviously wasn’t memorable.
Easily The House that Vanished for Larraz. Great atmosphere, but just plain forgettable. Emma was also a bit underwhelming; almost seemed like it was incomplete, and probably due to the 75 min runtime. But Symptoms turned out to be one of my favorite watches from last year thanks to the performance from Angela Pleasence.

I have Black Candles in the to watch pile, and might even check out the Vampyres remake just to see if it's as terrible as everyone says.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Finally popping back in here after been watching stuff like crazy while haven’t been feeling good due to my chronic illness flare ups with the colder temps so been mostly just watching / keeping track of my watched list, ratings, lists, etc in my notes on my phone to copy over at some point to my list here since distracts me somewhat from the pain. I have been reading this thread here & there as well as the list thread (enjoy reading it and seeing all the different reactions to certain films & rec’s which lead me to check out some I hadn’t heard of like Phobia 2 for example) but the majority of the time I’m sleep deprived/not feeling well so hard to comment much myself currently. Hope everyone continues to enjoy their horror watching .

Watched Constantine: City of Demons tonight. Now that is Constantine done right. Puts Contantine (2005) to shame. Don't get me wrong, Contantine has it's charms, but it was always a poser as Constantine: City of Demons definitively proves.

Also watched The Cat (1992) for the umpteenth time. It's still a little slow to start, but once it gets going it chugs along nicely and it features the greatest cat vs dog fight you'll ever see.

Finished off the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared shorts. What a twisted, demented ride. Even though watching shorts is punished by the Challenge, they really are worth a look if you want disturbing dreams tonight.

Finally, I re-watched Will Vinton's Claymation Comedy of Horrors Show (1991). I like it and it's a visual treat, but it never clicks. The protagonists just aren't likeable enough, I think.

The Constantine series was good too. I've got it on Google Play.

I know a lot of ghost hunting shows are staged, but that doesn't stop there being some creepy episodes. I just finished an episode of Ghost Adventures, on the Travel Channel, about a place called Kay's Hollow, and was legitimately creeped out at times.

Hey Chad, you called it! It looks like Shockwerks TV is back! Or for the time being.

Oh and Black Candles might be one of those “I guess it’s horror” movies. Ye been warned.
