Happened to browse the forum early this year randomly to check in & see the planning getting started already, awesome. Count me in for a subset pick + like the R.I.P. George Romero for Zombie Theme Day + like the watch a horror movie you've never seen from someone else's list idea. Not sure of new theme ideas at the moment but always enjoy seeing what others come up with each year.

I like all of these suggestions.

Also, count me in for a subset pick.

Yeah, Bob took my idea (maybe? I'm hoping for some partial credit) and made it a lot better.

Chad,

I've been working on a backup forum to maybe host templates and people's lists and whatever, just to have an emergency place to congregate in case DVDTalk goes under or goes down during a Challenge. I know we have the Facebook group, but apparently a lot us don't use Facebook.

But as our spiritual father, I don't want to step on your toes or reinvent the wheel if you have or would rather set it up yourself.

It was your "think outside the box" and "something not exactly defined but different for everyone" comments that inspired it so partial credit is yours! :)

I should have added a "cite your source" in there too.

Whatever you prefer is fine by me.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider the possibility on more than a few occasions. *If* it happens Blu-ray.com should be a definite consideration, IMO. Plenty of DVDTalkers have already migrated over, and there's even an active Hamilton thread.

That said, I seriously doubt any website could/would ever be as gracious as DVD Talk has been. We have free advertising on the front page and in the newsletter courtesy of John Sinnott, use of a shipping warehouse at no cost, and the world's greatest sponsor built right in.

I've also taken a few precautions by backing up a good portion on a portable drive and in the cloud, although there's still a few threads I haven't gotten around to saving.

You know I am down for a subset pick that everyone will hate.

Killer Condom 2: Electric Jizzaloo.

And speaking of Facebook haters, I'm posting a new thread when I have the time to compile it. The OHMC Permalink Thread. Currently Facebook is our only permanent address, and not everyone uses it as already mentioned. It'll have all the challenge links contained in one post and will be updated accordingly. I don't really know exactly what point it'll serve, but it will be our first permanent URL here.

Still plan on getting the pre-challenge up tonight, BTW. Probably late.

The pre-challenge thread is up, so we'll close up shop here. I'll transfer the subset volunteers and any suggestions over there.
