Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

I finished Night of the Demons for the theme. Now I'm just going to watch some random Monstervision movies.

As expecting, my viewing is forced to peter out down the stretch due to work demands. The Haunting (original) Saturday night will most likely be my last movie of the month. Still managed to cross 100, with a personal high total (2 other times I stopped at 100 exactly).

Tales of Halloween disappointed. Not horrible, but many of the shorts lacked any punch whatsoever; they were just there. I am always hoping for something that might spawn a yearly franchise, but would prefer Trick 'r Treat get that nod by far.

That costume rules.

Aside from the usual Halloween-themed films, I'm trying something different and catching a trailer compilation - Trailer Trauma 2: Drive-In Monsterama. The rest is up in the air.

Happy Halloween all :-) I'm also winging it as I go for today's watchlist but tend to follow Halloween themed flicks only and always the original Halloween film, hope all enjoy the holiday whatever their plans may be.

Yes, I was kind of disappointed by Tales as well. I had seen at least 2 of the segments fleshed out better in movie format, and just got bored by the rest.

The Hallows and Ava's Possessions are standouts for me in the past week or so.

I watched Hellions, which I think it also on Netflix Streaming and fits today's theme, what am oddball movie - it seems to struggle with striking a tone
Spoiler:
between horror and surreal with fantasy undertones diminishing what tension they do pull off. I wanted to like it more than I did because, on paper, it seems like a cool premise and there are some creepy moments.

The Ones Below is a real disappointment, it seemed to lack atmosphere
Spoiler:
and be too predictable, like there are never really any doubt of the outcome.

The commentary track on the original Halloween is legendary, a lot of fun.

Regarding rating on the checklist, A good deal of the Hammer films were rated X upon release, but I'm sure have been reclassified. Is the rating as it currently stands, or upon release, or either?

Either, as long as you're watching the right cut.

Lowest total for me in the 10 years I've been doing this. Just didn't really have the drive to push for 100. I've still got my wildcards available, so I'll take advantage of those somehow before wrapping up later tonight.

That was a British X, not an American X. I would think that you'd need to go by the American rating, since all the other ratings on the Checklist are American ratings.

For sure Halloween II since I haven't watched it in a few years. After that some old favorite b&w films. If I have time I'd like to get in one or two Universal classic monster movies and then maybe finish up with Tarantula. For some reason I've had that one on my mind for a while and it seems like a good way to end the challenge.

And I should hit 100 tonight!

Found a post from 2007 where I said watching over 100 was unhealthy and I'd never do it again. Yet here I am approaching 300. But seriously, I'm done with these 18-24 hours of viewing a day Octobers. I'm staying mostly safe on the roads, am enjoying each film, and Jen hasn't threatened to leave me; but my over-caffeinated body feels like crap and I feel bad ignoring my friends and family. I just sort of zoned in, then eventually decided that trying for a threepeat would be cool. After this, it's OHMC semi-retirement for me.

Five more movies until I reach an all time record for me of 180, not sure if I can pull it off with taking the kids trick or treating but have had a blast trying.

This might be the most deceptive cover I've seen. Everything about it says horror, doesn't it? I bought it cheap thinking it easily qualifies. But alas, it isn't really a horror film. Feel a little guilty even using a wild card for it.

Supernatural Thriller is a listed genre, which is sort of the definition of horror. But thanks for the warning, it's in the bowels of my collection somewhere.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Congrats to the winners of all the incredible prize packs!!

As always, I enjoyed the challenge. Watched many of "the usuals", had some great first viewings (Green Room, The Visit, Society, Terror Train) and some not so great first viewings (The Forest, The Ape Man).

Also went to the Walker Stalker convention in Atlanta and met Ron Perlman, Robert Englund, Judith O'Dea and Russell Streiner (from Night of the Living Dead). As we were waiting to meet Mr. Streiner, a volunteer was sent over by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The volunteer asked if Ms. O'Dea and Mr. Streiner could come down to his booth (because it would have been nearly impossible for Negan to walk the floor without being mobbed), so that he could meet them. When they got back, Mr. Streiner told us that Morgan was a big fan and had his line give them a big applause. I thought that was very cool.

The job interview seemed to go really well. We'll see what happens. This morning, I was thinking about making a run for a personal best, but once I got home from the interview, I decided to unwind for a bit without any viewing whatsoever. I know. I was shocked as well. Now I'm back tuned in and figure my remaining viewing will be a mixture of DVR backlog and the Wolf Man set.

Happy Halloween to everyone!

I didn't accomplish too much. I only did on movie this morning but I think I'll watch The Stuff or Hobgoblins before bed.

As this draws to a close, I want to extend a thanks, as always, to the organizers and those who keep coming back every year. Each year I think I won't have time to participate, let alone make it to 100 and I keep managing to claw my way upward mainly because of a love for the genre and discovering flicks I've never seen.

This year was a time machine back to when I first discovered horror flicks as a kid. My list is 90% 80's films. Ahhh, the cheesy campy goodness of youthful terror.

Happy Halloween, all!

Big thanks to Chad for running a smooth, and damn fun challenge as always. And to Golden Wheels (and Hamilton Books), Synapse, Severin, and Diabolik for donating amazing stuff that I can't even begin to try and match.

I'll echo my thanks to Chad for running a great challenge, and thank all of our sponsors. I also want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. I might get a couple more viewings in. I haven't decided yet.

I'll echo the thanks and Halloween wishes to everyone. These discussion threads are what binging and challenges are all about in my opinion. Without them, I would go months without turning the television on at all, let alone multiple movies a day.

And speaking of you, View, my viewing patterns this month have moved me into your 2007 record territory. I didn't realize I was going to even break 300 until today. Now I sort of wish I had realized how close I'd get, I would have watched more of more shorter films and beaten your 333. I might be close after I total my TV viewings, but think I'll end up at least a few short.

I should be able to reach 60 when the deadline hits. I never thought that I would make it that far.
Just goes to show you how great this thing is. I could never watch this many films / TV shows, etc.
in one month... Except for October.Thank you again for another year of the challenge It truly is a wonderful thing.

Big thanks to Chad! Also cheers to all the participants I don't think I could watch so many movies if it was just a personal challenge. It's been a lot of fun this year, as always. I'm looking forward to having time to comb through the lists.
