Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

Thoughts/prayers here too. I also agree with Undeadcow. I seem to get surgeries around challenge time but your situation sounds a bit more serious. Don't know what I could do but please feel free to PM if you need a chat.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I was pleasantly surprised by two films I've watched so far for today's theme. The first was Beneath which was thoroughly enjoyable, and featured a bad-ass practical monster fish prop. Acting directing, and story were much better than I imagined. Though there were many things that could be fixed, being a Chiller premier film I was quite impressed. And really its only purpose is to watch a monster fish eat stuff.

The second was The Shallows. Holy crap!! This movie blew me away in 4k/Ultra-HD + HDR. The imagery and texture in the frame is just absolutely insane. The movie as a whole was entertaining as well, again with its main purpose to watch a shark eat stuff. I usually can't stand Blake Lively, but this part was almost made for her. She matched the character so well I forgot all about her relationship with Dan Humphry.

Just finished watching myself. I thought Quint made it pretty clear that no fish that Hooper was naming would cut the line like that. I've always looked at it like "Jaws" was just playing with them.

I'm watching Subspecies right now and a thought occurred to me. Just what happened to make vampires go from scary to the teen angst vampires we get in Twilight?

I refuse to defend Twilight, but I think a lot of modern takes on vampires try to emphasize how they would attempt to blend in to human society and not do anything to draw attention to their existence.

I believe it began with Anne Rice and her "vampires are people, too" stories. There might be earlier examples, but Rice was definitely the author that struck a chord with people.

Best of luck to you in tackling the health issues. I will say some prayers for you.

I mentioned it at the time, but last year, I had my TV Challenge plans torpedoed by a nearly fatal heart attack and two procedures that month, so I know how it can be a bummer. The main advice I have is that if the challenge brightens your life, keep pushing on when you get the chance to sneak in a movie here or there. Of course, when you are in the hospital or whatever there is never anything good on any of those darn channels. I think my two stints in the hospital had the worst lineups on TMC I have ever seen with the exception of Miami Connection coming on at 2AM or something. When you aren't sure whether you will live through the day, there is something really comforting about a movie you love.

Crap... I was not expecting Open Water 1 to be so amateurish, but I'm committed now... damn it.

The Shallows is a generally beautiful film with some dubious CGI parts and laborious pacing there are much better shark movies (like The Reef) and years ago I would have admired a survival film like that for trying something new but after Frozen and several others the stranded against the elements bit isn't very novel.

I watched it once just to say that I did and then promptly bought the Rifftrax for it. It is one of the best Rifftrax tracks I've heard, so funny that I've almost purchased the movie just for that purpose, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Ha, ha.

Concerning Twilight I will say that it's well worth the time if you ignore the actors and story and focus on the amazing cinema photography by Elliot Davis (Director of Photography). I mean, truly breathtaking at times. I highly recommend the film if you have any interest in the work a DP puts into a shot.

It's so strange that Oren Peli can come up with a very good movie in Paranormal Activity and then write just crap afterwards.

Since I've also seen Jaws numerous times (8 times alone since I started tracking in August 2004, 3 of those times in a theater), I decided to watch it today with my 4K TV's 2D -> 3D up conversion for fun. It's amazing how far that technology has come. It looked fantastic!

As for the Hooper/Quint disagreement, I always felt that Quint was right. I'm not sure why. I just like the way he says it shows people like Hooper haven't learned to admit when they are wrong.

Interesting...I wonder if that Beneath is better than this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beneath_(2007_film)
