2015 Horror Challenge Results Thread

So last year, Chad decided that the 728 hours he put into creating the Challenge for us was enough, and did not have another 300 hours to create a results thread. Several of us volunteered to put together a small semblance of one.

Dick Laurent, undeadcow, Surfinhank, and SterlingBen worked on some great statistics. They were mostly posted in last year's final discussion thread. Perhaps we can repost them here.

I volunteered to go through and total up the count, and try to add funny/informative comments for each Challenger like Chad always does. Well, I made the mistake of taking pages and pages of notes for this job while at work, and those notes disappeared. My own fault, never should have left, or even done, them there. I gave up in disgust.

Well, guilt has prevailed and I've recreated a pale imitation of what I initially planned, which is of course a pale imitation of Chad's usual gem of a thread. I've only tabulated view and posting totals, the pithy comments may be added at a future date if I get really bored someday, but I doubt it.

Table and tabulations still a work in progress, but I'll go ahead and post the beginnings. I hope to finish it by tonight. Edit to add: Done for now, might add more comments in the future.

Nope, I have her in there.

I hope I didn't miss anyone, because that alternate row coloring will screw it all up.
Edit to add: Nevermind, I already screwed up the rows! And I forgot to add the centering formatting before inputting everything. Doh!
2nd edit to add: Weird, all the input is centered on some browsers but not others.

I'm going for a "Lazy" approach this year.

My first video was done by genre.

Last year's video was done chronologically by year.

This year's video will be done chronologically by viewing. The music won't likely match, but I'm sure I'll still have fun doing it like I always do.

Yep... I see it now - I'd done a search and it didn't return any results. That's because her username is lrend (with a lower case L) and not Irend (upper case I). I blame it on her for the way she created the username.

Hmmm. I've been pronouncing her username i-rend for three years now. I'm afraid she's going to have to change her real name now.

But fixed in the chart fwiw. I don't think there's anyway to tell outside of a search, you sneaky devil Bob.

Re: 2015 Horror Challenge Results Thread

Yeah, those missing entries on the 'horror challenge history" table were bothering me too.

I'll admit a tinge of nostalgia crept in looking at this, but that was immediately replaced by a shiver up my Titanium spine. Can't say I really miss the headaches, stress, or working past Thanksgiving. Those 300 less hours mean I get to "enjoy" the holidays where the only stress is family-induced.

But in all seriousness, it's great to see it continue on. Thanks for keeping it alive!

Ok, I'll admit it, that a motivation for re-doing it!

I like the total posts contributions. I don't think we had that stat before?

Not for horror I don't think. I've used them in other Challenge results iirc.

Just a product of my fascination with the whens and whys of people deciding to post here for the first time, and other oddities.

I thought that was the pronunciation as well until she set me straight.

It's actually (Lr-en) (d) - but I always read it as El-rend even though I know better.

Re: 2015 Horror Challenge Results Thread

I was wondering what happened to the dedicated results thread last year. Thanks for typing this up Trevor, they're always fun to read and marvel at.

I've never hit that number. I think around 87 was my peak. So painfully close, but I was really pushing it and pretty maxed out by the end of the month. Still, one of the challenges that I enjoyed the most.

I have the opposite problem. I just run out of time due to being too dang busy in October. Of course, I've never come near 87 so if I HAD gotten that far, I may be feeling the burnout as well.
