My wife is out of town this week and I'm not real interested in watching movies by myself so last night I played my Final Fantasy VII game on PS1. Walking around outside Corel trying to get into fights so I can get up some big bucks (and get my levels up a bit) before I go to the Golden Saucer casino.

Severance. I liked it a lot. It was an above-average horror/thriller/comedy.

Small Change (Pocket Money). Another classic from Truffaut. Utterly charming, a pure delight... and deliberately paced to ultimately be something deeper, more moving, and thought-provoking at the same time, creating a movie that is humane on several levels.

Goya in Bordeaux. I just wish I knew more about Goya's life, and his work as an artist. But this film doesn't need to explain all of that. What can be found within this film, is a beautiful and compelling story about the life of an artist - his emotion, feelings, the reactions to everything from personal encounters, affairs, and historically relevant moments - and the non-linear format of the direction allows for a haunting and surreal observation of these moments throughout the artists life and a deep appreciation for his work, captured and brought to life on film by Carlos Saura.

Congrats! On both the pending daughter and the great television you're watching.

But exposing a newbown to that series, I envision her first word being some deriative of 'fuck'. ;)

Trick r' Treat. Yes, I know its not Halloween. However I found the Blu-ray at Walmart for $10 and have been wanting to see it since it came out. I have to say, I was far more impressed with it than I thought I would be. It was old classic Halloween, unlike some of the modern horror garbage released these days. I'm a big fan of Creepshow so it was awesome to see another movie consisting of short stories. I was most impressed with how well the stories tied into each other. If you like old school horror, this is a must buy.

Yeah I hear ya! Definately can't watch this series with my wife, 4 year old or new baby daughter to be. Hell my wife heard Calamity Jane go off on a tangent in 1 of the episodes and said, Uh thats it for me!!!:)

Still watching the Final Fantasy VII drama unfold in the PS1 game I'm playing while my wife is away (she'll be back on Friday and we can get back into our routine of X-Files and movies every other night). I just can't seem to get into watching movies by myself...:( -kd5-
