Wall-E - 2008

Bugs, Cars, Fish now Robots. Don't know why I always hesitate watching a Pixar film but when I finally get around to it I'm always amazed by what that studio does.

Simply awesome effects, animation and story. The scene where Eve and Wall-E are "dancing" was magical! The messages of the film are overt and I thought the anthropomorphizing of Wall E and Eve were a little silly at first, but I warmed up to the fact and really fell into the story. Pixar nails another one for both kids and adults. Good stuff!

I love it, but I'm a huge Woody fan. I know it's not one of his more well received films & and some feel that he was kind of out of ideas with this movie. I couldn't disagree more, it's his ode to Fellini's 8, so the mirorring is obvious. It's poetic, & funny, & loaded with symbolism which is everything that classic Woody does best. It's just such a shame all of his greatest work is given some of the shittiest DVDs ever produced.

Agreed... and I had no idea you were a big Woody Allen fan. I own almost all of his work.

Oh yeah, huge, I didn't know you were either. I even like a lot of his most maligned work. I've just never bought most of his stuff outside of the first box set collection b/c the DVDs are so poor.

I just picked this up a few weeks back used. It was one of those movies I've always wanted to check out but never got around to. It was definitely worth the wait.

The DVD's are poor quality but I've purchased almost all of his work for $3 per film or less so I'm not complaining. It would be nice if they got the Blu-ray treatment though.

Assassination of a High School President - Really enjoyed this movie a lot. Definitely a "hidden gem" kind of movie. I netflixed this but I will definitely be buying it.
