Re: Haven't Posted in a While; Long List!
Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927) - the newest version with the Argentina-discovered footage is a revelation (even if the found scenes look like ass); Josaphat and The Tall Man's roles now make sense and Lang's vision is even more awe-inspiring. Instantly renders every previous version obsolete.
Tentacles (1977) - even though it copies the "Jaws" template to a tee (and somehow finds John Huston, Henry Fonda and Shelley Winters slumming it for an Italian paycheck) the cheesy ending and cheesier-still English dialogue is just too much.
Cinematic Titanic: East Meets Watts (2009/1974) - blaxploitation/kung-fu action flick that is more violent/racist than your average "MST3K" experiment. Joel & Co's visual gag to deal with 'the N-word' is priceless.
The Descent: Part 2 (2009) - even though it feels like a rehash of the original's better (and gorier) moments this is an above-average sequel. Better stop at 2 though.

Citizen Kane - Now honestly I've watched this film about 3 times in the last few years and for the life of me still cannot figure out why it is AFI's #1 film of all time. Must be me...I must be missing something!!!
