"The Quiet Earth" 1985 (New Zealand) Directed by Geoff Murphy, starring Bruno Lawrence, Alison Routledge, and Peter Smith.
Probably one of the best New Zealand movies ever made. DVD is in a steelbook.

We started watching The War of the Worlds (1953, Special Collector's Edition) this evening, in preparation of starting the series tomorrow. Didn't finish it tonight, ran out of gas. We'll finish it tomorrow.
