Fahrenheit 451 Question

I hope I'm posting this on the correct board.

I just saw a fairly low bit rate rip of the film last night & liked it enough to want to buy it.

My question: It appears it's only available on blu in various European editions; but is readily available on dvd in the USA.

Has anyone seen this film from one of the several official Euro br's, & is there enough of an improvement over the USA dvd to justify the region issue (I can play any region on my standalone player, but it's a minor pain & depends on some rather fragile external hardware) & the higher price?

Re: Fahrenheit 451 Question

a review of the German Blu suggests the video could be better...

Re: Fahrenheit 451 Question

Thanks; I saw that review after I posted. I ended up buying a used USA dvd for $5 delivered.

I believe what I saw was sourced from the blu; the colors were probably too vivid for dvd, but there was a bit of a lack of detail which at the time I attributed to bit rate compression. But from that review, it may very well be how the blu looks.

Re: Fahrenheit 451 Question

This is really odd; I bought the dvd, & prefer the low bit rate compressed blu rip. I can see what that review was criticizing, but on my set the dvd looks slightly worse.
