I do recall you mentioning that and I've chuckled at the image of him doing so. Kind of neat that you have that memory that comes up every time you go to change your clocks. In a similar way, I recall my late father at every time change. He would adjust all the clocks in the house early Saturday morning. Growing up, there was always small amounts of chaos on that day trying to figure out exactly what time it was if we had somewhere to be or if we wanted to watch something on television at a certain time.

From the Dark is a really good Irish horror movie that's been one of my favorites so far this month, it's nicely intense and probably the less you know in advance the better. In Fear is another modern Irish horror film that's more 'indie' (frustratingly so at some times) but also worth seeing with an interesting conclusion. Both are on Netflix.

Trying to decide how to see out the challenge, didn't get much sleep last night but trying to finish strong.

The specters in We Are Still Here are unique; I couldn't tell if they were really effective or too over the top it seemed to waiver between the two.

"Real life" in October? Pfffft... Seriously, good luck with everything. Hopefully you can find some diversion/relaxation if not from horror movies.

I've always found that memory aid to not be clear enough - you push a meeting back, it goes further away (time gain), you put the clock back, you lose time. Likewise, bringing things forward or pushing analogue hands forward...

saw Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse yesterday morning - I don't know, guess I was in the right mood, I thought it was entertaining. I'd give it a B- rating.

Happy Halloween, all!
You know, I really look forward to these challenges every year with all you crazy folk I've never met. I wonder how it'd be, all of us in a theatre, watching a flick together.

Outside of the candy binge, that's as sweet as I'm getting. Now back to more murder and gore!

It's 11pm, so I'm done for October now. I'm going to rewatch Murder Party after midnight for the comedy-crossover, but otherwise that's it for me. Including Murder Party, I'll be at 144 total which is a lot higher than I expected I'd get to. You can thank work-less weekends and a few days taken off school for that.

My top 10 FTV's:
1. Crimson Peak (2015)
2. Gui da gui (1980)
3. Basket Case 2 (1990)
4. Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010)
5. Ha phraeng (2009)
6. Bloodbath at the House of Death (1984)
7. Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat (2002)
8. Cybernatural (2014)
9. Stranger in Our House (1978)
10. Julie Darling (1983)

Haven't really seen anything worth talking about the last few days, unfortunately. I liked Simon, King of the Witches which I watched yesterday and Redd Inc. which I watched today.

There's some odd crude humor but it also has a level of intelligence that makes it worth seeing if nothing to get excited about. It effectively pulls in high school drama elements.

Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse was rarely more than cute and it was overly dedicated to the 'scout' joke. It's like an inferior version of Zombieland... overall forgettable with occasional moments of that stood-out... if you're hard up for another modern zombie rom com then maybe give it a try just brace yourself for iffy joke and a thin plot.

Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension was a letdown, it's disappointing to see them resort to inferior effects and doesn't offer much to standout within the lackluster later series installments. If you've invested time into the series so far it's probably worth a rental to see but otherwise a continuity heavy retread that at least shows a dedication to mythos.

Hotel Transylvania 2 might be the best "horror" movie I've seen in theaters this season...
personally I liked the cast of 'Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse' more than in 'Zombieland'

I hope PA:GD is the last of the series, it's just limping now.

If you hadn't noticed Amazon GBD yet, Tales From the Darkside is at its cheapest today: $34.99 for the complete series DVD set.

Happy Halloween everyone. I got a late start today due to preparations for a small family Halloween party this afternoon, and company coming as well this morning. So just now starting on my first movie of the day.

These were previous challenge-winners for me as well (Redd Inc was called "Inhuman Resources" over here)
It's still a bit strange to be talking to someone who's Halloween-night has already ended!

EDIT-Almost forgot. Are you still doing a compilation vid?

It's been in my cart for years, waiting for a price like this. Of course, I have several other anthology series I've barely opened, so perhaps I'll wait.

Usually I don't get to watch much on Halloween but the weather here is frightful so trick or treating might end a bit early tonight... We're playing it by ear. So I may be able sneak a couple more movies in tonight.

I started today's viewing with a Godzilla movie, Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster. The dubbed version has one of my favorite movie lines of all time, 'Godzilla, such terrible language.' I also noticed one of the extras seemed to be in a few different scenes, or at least I saw a guy that looked like him.

Can anyone clarify which Halloween movie several had watched and discussed earlier in the month? Was it All Hallows' Eve (2013)?

Also, we established that the Peanuts Halloween special counts as a stand-alone entry, correct?

Happy Halloween, folks!
Thought about going out, but it's a cold, dreary, and rainy day with thunderstorms on the horizon. I think I'll stick with my original plan of a Halloween-themed favorites marathon and potential shitfests like Haunted-ween.

All Hallows' Eve 2 and Tales of Halloween are the ones I recall.

And yes.

You push a person back and they fall.

The man with spring shoes goes forward.

All right, theme movie is in the books. At this point, it's all about finishing things out. It's always a little sad when I get to the point that I no longer need to reference the first post for themes, daily subset films and the optional checklist.

Maniac Cop up next to start my Bruce Campbell marathon. Speaking of which, all I had heard was that Ash vs. The Evil Dead premiered on Halloween, but my DVR recorded it last night. I guess it will be ready for me once I get to that point.

Challenge curse got me on the last day. DSL is out in our area. I'm connecting to the internet through my data plan, and for streaming purposes, turned my phone into a mobile hotspot.

Just about to start my last movie needed for checklist completion. Followed by my last 2 movies needed for Theme Night completion. And then maybe some gravy.

Wife and daughter are out, settled in waiting for trick or treaters while I watch Trick 'r Treat.

After midnight, I'll watch Tucker and Dale vs Evil and that will put me 34/34 on the subset picks and 33/33 on the themes.
