Thanks for the picks.

I went with Volume 2 of Classic Musicals from the Dream Factory (they have 1 & 2), because it was lower priced. Let me know if you really had your heart set on Volume 1, and I'll switch it.

I didn't see Newsradio: The Complete First, Second, and Third Seasons, only Newsradio: The Complete Series and Newsradio: : Seasons 1 & 2. Which one were you suggesting?

Sorry, but Jeeves & Wooster: Complete Collection is a little pricey. I'm gonna have to veto that one.

I'm glad to see this thread getting so active, since it is one of my favorite challenges. I was worried that it seemed so slow the first few days.

With this many suggestions, and so few participants, I may have to resort to random.org if we don't get any clear winners.

It didn't come up when I looked for it, but then stumbled upon it while simply browsing. Probably because this listing has News Radio (2 words).

My suggestions (if you're still taking them):

Don Knotts - Tied Up With Laughter

What's Happening!! - The Complete Series

Small Wonder: Season 1

Again, if you have too many, these can be discarded.

Yes, I'm still taking them. Anyone who wants to, feel free to jump in.

I think what I'll do is ask each voter to give me 4 picks they like in order of preference (sort of like I've done with the winners). That ought to give us enough votes to come out with a couple of winners.

Personal things out of my control have me feeling very stressed right now. I wonder if a little comedy would help.

Finally got a little time to look for different prizes. How about these:
Hollywood Comedy Legends, UHF, Dr. Strangelove, League of Their Own, Moonrise Kingdom, or Great Comedy Teams Collection.

Thanks. Added to the list.

New list:

Spoiler:

We'll stop with the nomination process tomorrow at midnight, or when we hit 30 items, whichever comes first. So, if you haven't made a suggestion, or you only suggested one item, feel free to give it a go (and don't be shy about suggesting books or Blu-rays).

Re: The Fifth Annual November Comedy Challenge *Discussion Thread* Nov 1-30, 2015

100 Greatest Comedy Classics was already suggested, but the others look good. I especially like the inexpensive ones you picked because we can combine those into a gift set. I can do that either before the voting or for one of my two picks.

I'll add the other three to the list and post it later.

EDIT: I took a closer look, and since those three were all inexpensive, I'm going to go ahead and make them a set. When I get some time later today, I'll go back and look for any other suggestions from a single person that I can make into a set also, so we may end up with more open spots.

There's still a few spots left if anyone new wants to jump in.

I just saw that the Bob Hope Collection Volume 2 was over $25; I could have sworn it was $25 or less. Feel free to pull it.

No, I figured it was close enough to the $25 to include it originally, so I'll leave it. Plus, we don't know if Hope is popular enough around here to get the votes. It might not matter anyway.

No problem. I would've liked to include it, but I like to give four prizes out for this one (since it's been that way all along), and that would've made me have to drop one or two others.

Bob Hope not popular!? Admittedly, I'm not as fond of his late period movies; he made his best movies in the 40's and 50's. If someone isn't at least fond of Bob Hope it's because they haven't seen a Bob Hope movie (preferably from the 40's or 50's).

Item #21 - "Hollywood Comedy Legends" 50 movie pack is part of #9 - "Greatest Comedy Classics" 100 movie pack. That 100 movie "pack" is actually 2 previously released MC 50 film comedy sets bundled together (in their original packaging with a simple outer label/shrink wrap holding them together). The other 50 movie set in that big pack is "Comedy Kings" which I don't think is available separately from Hamilton.

I slightly prefer the titles in #1, but #2 is fine to use. These are all second-tier titles anyway. Big stars, though.

I really like Bob Hope (even his later stuff), but you never know about other peoples' tastes.

Well, I could take the smaller one out, or just make sure that they don't both become prizes (I could count all "21"s as "9"s). I'll probably take 21 out if we get a replacement suggestion. Thanks for letting me know.

Feel free to take that smaller one out-pretty sure I rec'd it. I saw that it had some of the same movies but didn't realize the whole thing was included. Sorry!

Yeah, I'll take it out. I'm going to wait to update the picture & the list until someone new chooses something else, or until late tomorrow night.

How much time do you folks think I should give for the voting? I was thinking a couple days (say over the weekend), but maybe three days (Saturday - Monday) would be better. I could add up the votes early Tuesday and add in my picks and send the list to GoldenWheels sometime Tuesday, and probably report all the prizes by Thursday or so (after he confirms our picks are in stock and gets copies of them).
