State of Grace....Bluray Re-issue
It's a good movie and I own it on a regular DVD I got for 8 bucks in the discontinued bin,so I have to ask what is it about the blu-ray re-issue that Amazon has listed at $69. and change?Mine is wide screen,16-9,and clocks in at 134 minutes.A cynical guy might wonder if my inbox will be bombarded with similar re-issues and if I'm expected to replace all those obsolete dvds with "new and improved","collector editions" director approved,"etc.etc......

Doc, that's a Twilight Time release. Twilight Time releases their Blu-rays in limited runs--STATE OF GRACE is limited to 3,000 copies. Once it sells out, due to contractual obligations, they can't sell any more within three years, and then they can sell them again only if they sign a new contract with MGM.
Unless you buy Twilight Time titles directly from Screen Archives, you're probably going to pay more than retail (which in this case is $29.95), as many of the people who buy these are speculating, hoping that these runs sell out so that they can jack up the prices (as seems to be the case with STATE OF GRACE) and make a tidy profit.
If you really want it, your best bet is to go to www.screenarchives.com and buy it there for $34.30 ($29.95 plus $4.35 shipping).

It largely boils down to personal preference and whether or not you want you collection in HD or SD. As you sound totally content with SD material, there would appear to be no real reason for you look any further. For every person that is content with SD, there is someone that wants it in HD. I don't know how providing wanted material relates to a "cash grab".
