No. It's just a video that I found when I did a search. I just bought the season 1 DVD. The packaging is different from what's in the video. The case is the size of a regular DVD case. There are two "pages" each with a disc on each side. The fifth disc is where it would be in a single DVD case. So this seems to be the new standard way of storing season sets, which is great for saving shelf space, and there is no overlapping or stacking of discs. On my 32 inch Samsung HDTV with the picture set to 4:3 so there are black bars on the sides, the picture looks great to me. I think this is probably the best season, and as I am only a casual fan, it's the only season I plan on buying. |
Re: Batman 1966 - thread #2
Warner plans to institute a replacement program for the Blu-ray set, sometime in January. Apparently the UV streaming copy has already been partially fixed with the missing footage.

Amounting to less than five minutes of footage within the 50-plus hours of entertainment, the issues encompass one 60-second dropped scene in the episode entitled "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds"; a brief piece of rarely-heard William Dozier narration that originally opened the pilot episode, "Hi Diddle Riddle"; and an assembly of villain tags from the end of assorted episodes. |

I think it's great that they are offering replacements and I put in for them...but what sucks is that I'm giving this as a gift and now I have to explain how they aren't getting all the proper discs until February.

I think it might be better if you didn't tell the person whom you're giving it to about the replacement discs. The missing footage is so minimal. No one seemed to care about this, for example: http://mentalfloss.com/article/53198...vin-and-hobbes 7 Things You Might Not Know About Calvin and Hobbes 3. The Complete Collection Isn’t Quite Complete To celebrate the strip’s 20th anniversary in 2005, publisher Andrews McMeel issued a hernia-inducing collection of Watterson’s entire body of work—sort of. Salem recalls a minor blow-up from readers when Watterson published two strips in the 1980s that depicted Calvin mocking the idea he might be adopted. In one strip, Calvin’s complains that “I’ll bet my biological mother would’ve bought me a comic book…” It was later changed to, “I’ll bet a good mother would’ve bought me a comic book…” Another strip, featuring Hobbes in a washing machine, is missing from the collection entirely. Some have speculated that putting the tiger in a spin cycle might be an unwelcome hint he’s not real. No one, including Watterson, ever wanted to have that question answered. |

The stress of waiting two months to get the fixed version might not be worth it to some people. Maybe it's better to just let the person enjoy their gift, and not even tell them about the fixed discs. Here's something that never got fixed, and most people don't seem to care: |

Re: Batman 1966 - thread #2
I got my Blu-ray replacement discs in the mail. It does look like you'll need to keep the original disc if you want that opening episode without the narration.

Re: Batman 1966 - thread #2
I'll believe people are actually receiving these replacement discs when Warner Home Entertainment issues an official press release.

Re: Batman 1966 - thread #2
Or when Mark Hamill says it in an interview.
No need to continue being an idiot. Let it go, kid. |
Re: Batman 1966 - thread #2
Stop. Please stop. We don't need the stupidity started up again.
Try taking it to PMs if you really want to keep going at it. |
