Bah. A memorable babe is probably good enough for my low standards when it comes to genre flicks. LOL. Having watched a lot for these challenges, as long as I'm staying awake I'm usually happy. If it's bad, I just look forward to the next one and chalk it up and something I survived.

Fangoria Covers offers a lot of possibilities for subset picks and individual picks.

For example, a recent cover featured Under the Skin with Scarlet Johannsen (which I know a few people are probably planning on checking out for the challenge. I thought it was a decent film, kind of an arthouse variation on |Species

A few films that have been mentioned in other categories are good Fangoria covers, too, like The Funhouse. That film has to be used somewhere. It's got a great special edition from Shout Factory! and it's one of Hooper's best post-TCM horror efforts. I just finished reading the novelization (which was by Dean Koontz under the Owen West pseudonym).

You spelled Syngenor wrong. I like it and it's in one of my Mill Creek sets.

I've got 2 days on the calender where my output will drop (The 24th & 25th) I'm gonna be at Reno's Zombie crawl for that weekend:

Isn't the 24th zombie-themed day? That'll be a good coincidence.

Here's a list just to get out an idea of how suggestions are faring so far for each theme. Keep in mind that some people provided several suggestions, and some films provide multiple themes. Also, there's most likely a few themes that aren't listed (Fango, for instance):

Criterion - 3 (it's bonus; no person assigned)
  1. Bathrooms & Kitchens - 3
  2. Summer-Themed - 4
  3. Dreams, Hallucinations & Drug Trips - 6
  4. Horror Comedies/Teens Screams - 7
  5. Deserted Island Horrors - 2
  6. 1964 Vs. 1989 - 7
  7. Mario Bava & William Castle - 2
  8. Werewolves/Were-Creatures/Full Moon Features - 1
  9. Foodservice Industry Terrors - 0
  10. Lesbians, Brothels & Sex Demons - 2
  11. 35 Years of Fangoria Covers - probably quite a few
  12. Graveyard Horrors - 5
  13. Before They Were Stars - 3
  14. Motorcycle Horrors - 4
  15. Asian - 15
  16. Retail Establishment Terrors - 14
  17. Demented Dads & Bad Mothas - 3
  18. 1980's Video Companies - 2
  19. Slashers / Giallos / Serial Killers - 15
  20. Vampires & Apocalyptic Horror - 6
  21. Horror Films w/ Original Songs - 5
  22. Sibling Rivalry - 3
  23. Planes, Trains, 2 & Automobiles - 3
  24. Zombies - 3
  25. Drive-In Double Features - 1
  26. Supernatural & Quiet/Soft - 11
  27. Horror Anthologies - 2
  28. Masked Killers - 8
  29. Creature Features - 5
  30. Demonic Possession / Satanic / Witchcraft - 6
  31. Halloween - 4

And we still need 12 more subset volunteers.

Did I sneak onto the list...?

More suggestions:
1964: Comedy of Terrors, or Onibaba (got, not seen), Curse of the Mummy's Tomb.
1989: Pet Semetary, CHUD 2, or Phantom of the Mall (works elsewhere).

Please allow me to vote for Christine, The Car, or Maximum Overdrive if those haven't been picked before.

I hoping to watch these this season.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 10th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

My subset suggestion: Terror is a Man. Reputedly the first and best Filipino horror movie, it is available on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riZTNFwgGVs. It fits Asian Horror (although it is in English and has a mostly non-Filipino cast) and Island Horrors. It is a version of The Island of Dr. Moreau, so if Island of Lost Souls were also chosen (a great movie), those who watch both would have the opportunity to compare classic Hollywood horror with a lower budget foreign take on the same material.

I have the Wellspring DVD, which is apparently still in print. I also have the Blood Island Vacation collection, which are apparently considered sequels to Terror is a Man, and a few other Filipino horror movies that I got recently. I've had the Blood Island Vacation collection for a while, but haven't watched it in past challenges because I had misplaced my copy of Terror is a Man until a few weeks ago.

I need to watch A Tale of Two Sisters again. I love Bio Zombie. I think Uzumaki is one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. I'd like to watch some Indian horror movies, but their length tends to be a deterrent.

I agree with your assessments of all of these movies. A TALE OF TWO SISTERS is maybe my favorite horror film, and it's definitely one of my dozen or so favorite films from any genre. Too bad that it's already been used as a subset pick. BIO ZOMBIE was a total blast. And UZUMAKI...yeah, I watched that one a few Challenges back. Spirals ≠ scary. One thing about Indian movies, though: you can't say that you don't get your money's worth of entertainment. I have yet to make it the whole way through ANY actual Bollywood film (I naturally don't count SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE). Even GUMNAAM, as fun as it is, couldn't hold my attention the whole way through. I certainly didn't feel shortchanged, however.

CLM is nearly 8 hours as I recall so it was counted as 4 last year.

Also on BioZombie, way better dubbed than subbed.

Just my second year on this, so if my suggestions don't work because they've already been used, like jacob b says, just give me a topic. I will then be sure to pick something that fits and does not appear on previous lists.

With the bonus disc it is. Without it, it's only 400 minutes. I assumed we figured it counted by treating it like 2 hour TV shows.

Wasn't the bonus disc an additional 4 hours, which would make the whole thing a 10 hour affair? But yeah, just count it using TV rules.

So did the dirtbike theme morph into motorcycles in general? If so, would Skinwalkers qualify?

^Yeah, due to the lack of titles, but the dirt bike link is also included on the list. And yes.
