I did some searching and didn't see this posted but figure there might be some Dilbert fans that would be interested. I remember the cartoon being really funny

The Dilbert cartoon from 1999-2000 has been re-released on dvd
It's pretty cheap too, around $10

I found it for $5 at Target.

Just curious...is there a difference between the newer set and the old original one from a few years ago, besides the fact the newer set is cheaper and has one less disc to it? i know a few stores still carry the older set as well, so wondering which of the two is better overall?

Wondering how bad the compression is on it- might as well just watch it on Netflix if the DVD looks like crap.

The original release had a few extras, which I'm guessing Mill Creek won't have ported over.

Exactly. One less disc most likely means more episodes per disc, which means more compression. I'm sure the 20-minute bonus feature wasn't the only thing on that "dropped disc" from the original release.

That's the thing with a lot of these Mill Creek re-releases. They're a lot cheaper, but usually (if not always) at the sacrifice of fewer discs per set, meaning more compression on the episodes. It depends on how important picture quality is to you versus price (of acquiring the original set instead of the reissue).

I spot checked a couple of episodes. Yes, the quality could be better, but (on my setup at least), it's still watchable.

I figured for five bucks and all the episodes are intact, it works out better this way, so long as they are watchable and in good condition. Thanks guys!

the quality has to be better than the couple I watched on youtube over the weekend, which is why I went looking for the dvds and discovered the new release

edit: came today. looks fine to me. It's a 14 year old cartoon not some high budget sci-fi movie with lots of eye candy. I bet it looks better on my 1080p monitor than it originally looked on the crt tvs that were still main stream when it was broadcast

I picked it up for $5 bucks at Target as well.
