Destroy All Monsters Media Blasters DVD?

Why is the DVD/Blu-Ray release OOP so quickly? It hasn't even been out a year.

Re: Destroy All Monsters Media Blasters DVD?

I think they got in trouble from Toho because they included things Toho didn't approve of, especially the original American AIP English dub track (which is superior to the Toho English dub also included). So Media Blasters had to pull it off the market and MAY release it again without the AIP track and maybe w/o the commentary, etc., but you never know. That's why Toho only let them release MEGALON completely bare-bones for now.

That's exactly it. Toho (and apparently all Japanese studios) are really, oddly strict regarding extras put on DVDs and such, and MB just went too far. I think it might have been something as innocuous as a still image gallery.

I'm surprised the original Godzilla got a Criterion release.

This year. It's pretty packed. The Blu-Ray looks incredible.
