...Anybody know what the extras are gonna be for the DVD (not Blu-Ray) of "Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut"? Will it have both versions??

Re: Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut
What's known so far (I've bolded what appears to be a sure bet on the DVD version) :
Tech specs will include a 1080p digitally remastered high definition transfer for the Blu-ray. Audio will be mixed in 5.1 Dolby TrueHD for the BD.
This release will not only include the theatrical cut (on BD), but also a completely restored, never-before-seen Director's Cut of the film, featuring a drastically different, and much darker, 20-minute alternate ending.
Here's a note about the restoration direct from Warner, "The footage of the original ending was previously available only in black & white in the extra content of a limited number of copies of a DVD edition released in 1998. Now, with the help of production notes from Frank Oz and others on the film's creative team, WHV has meticulously restored and digitally remastered the ending, in full color, with the elaborate special effects in tact. Sound has also been rebuilt and mixed in Dolby 5.1. The theatrical version has also been re-mastered."
Extras will include the following (no word yet on which of these extras are exclusive to Blu-ray):
*Theatrical version of the film with optional commentary
*The Director's Cut featuring the newly restored 20-minute alternate ending
*Digitally re-mastered picture and 5.1 sound on both versions
*"Frank Oz and Little Shop of Horrors: The Director's Cut," an introduction by Frank Oz with Richard Conway
*"A Story of Little Shop of Horrors" (behind-the-scenes documentary)
*Outtakes and deleted scenes with optional commentary
*Two theatrical trailers
The Blu-ray will also include a 40-page Digibook with production notes, stills and rare insights.

For people who may not know anything about what the alternate ending is, its how the Broadway play actually ended.

Re: Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut
The blu-ray will certainly include both versions of the film. However, the dvd may only include the directors cut according to dvdempires listing which only lists the DC version, while the blu-ray listing mentions both versions. Warner has been doing this lately where they only offer the alternate version on blu-ray vs dvd. The Exorcist blu-ray including both versions of the film, while the newly released single dvd release only included the extended(and inferior) version of the film is one such example.

I'm a big fan of the movie and have the alternate ending as a bonus on the old DVD. I have the blu-ray on order. The alternated ending is interesting but I actually prefer the theatrical ending.

To point out, the DVD had an isolated soundtrack (in 5.1 IIRC).
There's been no mention of that being carried over to the Blu-ray.

I didn't see a release date in this thread, but this is coming out next Tuesday, the 9th.
Any early reviews yet?
Edit: Sorry, I found this thread via search and didn't realize this was the DVD, not HD, forum.

Re: Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut
Wait the Amazon listing says:
NOTE: This disc does not contain the alternate ending found on the previously-issued DVD
Does that just mean because its put in the Director's Cut?

Yes, this is a pretty cool movie. Having a 5.1 soundtrack that I can blast is even better. I guess it's safe to say that i'll be getting this on the 9th.

Re: Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut
I think that previously issued DVD had the alternate ending, but I believe it was unfinished and may have actually been in black & white. I also think they pulled it as soon as it hit the shelves because of a rights issue. So maybe Amazon is saying that this version isn't that one with the half-assed ending. Maybe?

Re: Little Shop of Horrors Director's Cut
So for anyone besides me who's interested in the DVD version of this title, I can now say that it only has the director's cut of the film with the unhappy ending.
What I did was pick up an empty DVD case that holds two discs and transferred the cover art and both the "director's cut" disc, as well as my existing "theatrical cut" disc into it along with cover art and thus made my own "2-disc special edition" out of it.
