As someone who routinely watches movies recorded 20-odd years ago on VHS, I especially liked this line:

I'd be more impressed if they stocked beta tapes.

People didn't talk about VHS rot like we do with DVDs that sometimes die after a few years. Never had that happen with VHS.

That article made me nostalgic, maybe I'll watch "Saturday the 14th" tonight (one of the few VHS I have left).

Makes me wish I still had my VCR.

Nice- I've rescued a few boxes of thrown-out VHS tapes in my neighborhood. I can't stand to see any media go into the landfill. Have these people heard of D-VHS though? It was out BEFORE HD-DVD!

No, but you get magnetic print-through after a while. It's also susceptible to mold.

Still have a VCR and a bunch of my original videotapes. Just played a tape I recorded off TV in 1979.
Looks just the same as it did 33 years ago
