Apparently *not* DVD-R but a regular in store release.

Great news. I have been waiting for this one for a long time.

Re: Logan's Run TV 10 April 2012

Interesting. I own the original movie w/ Michael York but I've never seen the series so this will be something to keep an eye on hoping the price gets down to my comfort level. $40 for 14 episodes (+ the pilot presumably) seems kind of pricey for me. I'd like to see this though. Does anyone know if they were able to get to any kind of satisfying conclusion or was the series prematurely cancelled in mid flight? -kd5-

As I recall it was cancelled mid flight. Don't think they aired all of the episodes. It has been a while since I saw it but I have fond memories of the series.

It's sad that people seem to want to gobble up (what I consider to be) stupid stuff on TV, while shows like this get cancelled (or suits botch them). It never fails. -kd5-

The Bootleg I have has all 14 episodes, so I believe they aired all of them. Nonetheless I will purchase the Official version when it comes out and introduce the boots to "Mr. B. F. Hamerr"

Never seen this, but have always been curious. May be a blind buy for me.

Well, I think they all aired eventually, but not on it's original run. For some reason I seem to remember the show running on SciFi back in the 90s, but I could be wrong.

Even with the Amazon discount down to - wow, I checked the other day it was like $27.99 and now it's up to $31.99.

This is a title I'll definitely be waiting for a price drop on.

The way the story goes, CBS supposedly aired them all on the East coast, but the last three episodes didn't make it to the West coast. Sounds a bit odd, though, that 1/2 of the country would be left out. I do know tape collectors, prior to the 1990-ish reruns, often got the final three episodes from foreign or other non-CBS showings, sometimes very poor-quality versions where someone pointed a video camera at a monitor!

And it was TNT in the US, not Sci-Fi, that re-ran all of the episodes--unedited--several times (at least 3-4 cycles) around 1990, shortly after Ted Turner acquired the MGM library (Logan was an MGM series). SyFy in the UK aired the series in recent years, but in an edited form. Early episodes had the credits sequences edited out and when a few people complained, they put them back in and made further cuts to the episodes themselves to compensate!

Will be so glad to retire my TNT tapes (though was VERY glad to have the opportunity to tape those at the time to replace my multi-generation off-CBS recordings!).

Thanks for pointing that out. I knew it aired on some cable channel during the 90s, and Sci-Fi was just my most logical guess.

Damn, now Amazon is up to $35.99. Are they doing that price randomizer thing again? I know the studio wants to make their money back, but what are they trying to prove with messing with the price like this?
