Any recommendations for tonight's theme?
Bob Hope & Bing Crosby Laurel & Hardy Wheeler & Woolsey Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor Chris Farley & David Spade Abbott & Costello Doris Day & Rock Hudson Martin & Lewis Allen & Rossi Morecambe & Wise Peter Cook & Dudley Moore All these made at least two moves together (except for Allan & Rossi). Not sure how strict the duo bit is supposed to be, but this list should give you a start. |

Most people watched Stripes on Military night but I think Bill Murray & Harold Ramis made a great comedy duo. |

I was pretty much on track for hitting 100 but then I went on vacation over the weekend and got crabs.

^So how did getting crabs slow you down? Take too long getting rid of 'em?

Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
I'll be watching shorts with Laurel & Hardy, George Burns and Gracie Allen, and Jack Benny and Fred Allen

I figured out how to get a listing of these from IMDB.
Comedy rated "M" - 62 titles in the list. Comedy rated "GP" - 57 titles in the list. Comedy rated "NC-17" - 43 titles |

Screwball - What's everybody watching?
I just watched JUST GO WITH IT and in the genre section on IMDB it says "Comedy / Romance / See More" Clicking on "See More" I found Screwball at 25, so I think I'll JUST GO WITH IT! |

I watched Animal House and Some Like It Hot for the first time yesterday, that alone makes this challenge a success for me :)
Pretty dumb, but there were laughs to be had. |

Took another biggie off my to-watch list: Sullivan's Travels! Got a second chance after missing it in the Criterion Challenge.

Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
so if imdb lists a movie as a 'comedy' it counts - right?
|
Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
I watched The Libeled Lady tonight. Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy and Spencer Tracy. Wowsa.

I was doing so well at the beginning of the month. However, I decided to finish the third season of Star Trek: TOS which is often unintentionally funny which probably doesn't count. |

Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
What's a "sketch comedy"? A keyword search on IMDb brings me to results of nothing I own unfortunately, most of them looking like TV series. It looks like I picked the wrong day to use the wildcard.

Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
Guys got any prize ideas yet? I have 0 problem picking them myself, I just need to know. Suggestions welcome, check the Hamiltonbook.com website under movies/comedies.
Probably a good idea if you come up with some, otherwise you are left to my tastes, in which case someone will almost certainly be receiving the criminally underrated Caddyshack 2. :D |

I was wondering if we'd heard from Trevor since the nuptials, but I just saw he reserved a spot in the list thread yesterday

Re: First Ever November Comedy Challenge discussion/suggestions/comments thread
I just finished Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980) for Stoner night. I thought I'd seen all their films but I didn't remember *any* of this one! Of course this was released after I'd gotten married, had a kid, and was deep into keeping a family afloat on a single income...
