Thanks for the good times to most of you and I appreciate what Mao and mvieguy do to help others. From now on, I'll remain a spectator.
No one is getting punished because of you dolphinboy. You don't need to leave. Your opinion is valued as much as anybody else's. I for one knew immediately that you were joking because there is no way that someone like you would miss out on Bridesmaids (September 20) if Super 8 wasn't announced in a week. lol

Please don't leave. Infact I don't understand what is the big deal with a little bit of humor in this thread. I was joking when I commented on iStylez post regarding his interest in Zookeeper. And no Movieguy, I have nothing to say about you liking Judy Moody. I was simply being sarcastic. I respect you a lot, but with this last post of yours you just tried to show that because you work for BVHE and bring great info. here, that you are the boss and everybody should post according to your satisfaction.

I don't mean any disrespect to you when I say this because I have ton of respect for you because of your day to day activities on this thread. But please stop saying stuff that makes other people feel uninvited. Even iStylez didn't take that seriously. Sorry if I hurt your feelings in anyway iStylez.

LOL!

Actually, looking forward mostly to some solid Blu-Ray catalog releases (happy that titles like "Last Exit To Brooklyn", "Jackie Brown", "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure", not to mention "West Side Story", "My Fair Lady" and "Ben-Hur") will all be on my shelf this year.

As far as new releases go, I'm in for "Harry Potter", "Pirates", "Submarine", "Cars 2", "Bridesmaids" and "Scream 4". Sadly, I am not in the "Super 8" love camp...I just didn't get it.

I'm sorry. I did not mean any disrespect, and I did not know you could get into trouble for this. I would never want that to happen.

Oh I hope that's not true. I think it would be foolish of Fox to release their domestically top grossing film this year after Christmas. I know studios use to sometimes release their bigger August movies a few days to a week after Christmas (such as XxX and American Wedding) but nowadays it seems to be a spot more reserved for successful fall movies like Eagle Eye and Paranormal Activity. I hope Rise of the Planet of the Apes gets released sooner than that cause I guess you could say it's my Super 8.

Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread

I realize I am a person with only a few posts... but man this thread is hilarious!!

It's Release Dates for movies! We're not talking about top secret white house documents like who actually killed Kennedy!

I agree about Planet Of The Apes... why would the studio want to release a huge hit like that AFTER Xmas?! I know they can take advantage of Gift Cards... but if they release it just a week before Xmas, they will clean up on those last minute shoppers!

This is the type of movie that would dominate pre xmas sales. Something like Final Destination 5 can come out after Xmas and I would bet sales would be roughly the same.

As for Super 8... i liked it, but thought it could have been so much better... but I will own it when it is available.

I'm more interested on when I can get my hands on Horrible Bosses and the previously said Rise of The Planet Of The Apes.

I dont think the date would stick anyway, its probably the 20th and someone jumped the gun on it and announced it for the 27th. after i saw the date i called my friend at Fox to confirm and he said Fox never settled on a date, and the 29th is a far shot, Depending on how crowded December gets. he did say Water for Elephants will be announced in the next week or two. and that november 1st is looking like its date.

as for Fright Night and the Help, without a Doubt we are releasing The Help before Christmas, probably the 13th, Fright Night may end up the 20th or moving it to january, again depending on the pending other studio releases
