How often do you watch your highly replayable DVD's?

I tend to wait a few years between screenings of favored titles. It makes the experience of re-watching fresher.

Re: How often do you watch your highly replayable DVD's?
I used to rewatch certain titles all the time. In particular, Kevin Smith films, The Breakfast Club, Back To The Future, Star Wars, Donnie Darko, Halloween, etc. With how big my collection has gotten, that's obviously cut down a great deal. I don't regret having a large collection, though. I like having a large library of films to choose from, even if some films get less play than others...

Re: How often do you watch your highly replayable DVD's?
There are certain DVDs I'd really like to watch more often than others, but with my collection as it has been getting in the last few months I want to make certain we watch the others too, so I have to force myself not to plug in my favorites sometimes.
I'd like to put as close to a year as possible between viewings (makes each viewing fresher), with some DVDs it's relatively easy, with others it's hard as hell. -kd5-

There's DVD's I've never watched on a 16x9 display, and that's been close to ten years since I got my first display like that. Even my Star Wars DVDs have barely been watched, and I use to play them on VHS at least once a month back in the day.

The Bond movies are among my favorites and I usually will take one day out of the week and watch 2 of them at a time for a month( 8 or 10 per month),then give it a 90 day break, that way there's still a Hunger(starring David Bowie) too watch even more Bonds. Still waiting on more Bond releases on Blu-ray.

It's changed for me a bit. We used to watch the VHS of Braveheart and Dazed & Confused on an almost nightly basis at my fraternity house. One summer when I went home I watched D&C almost nightly just out of habit. I bought the DVDs/BRs of both years ago and haven't watched either of them since. Conversely, I recently watched The Hangover BR for the third time.
Most of my BRs I buy as a one off type of thing. They're cheaper than the theater experience and my HT has come a long way from the 19" TV/VCR combo hookup up to a Dolby Surround setup with the typical college CV bigger is better type of speakers.

I have maybe 3 films I watch every year. Besides those 3 it kinda varies on what mood I'm in, it could be a few years before I watch something again.

With movies like Back To The Future, the real Batman movies, Bean, certain Doctor Who episodes, Ferris Bueller, Darby O'Gill, and A Knight's Tale, I watch them at least once a month. Though, I've been getting so much lately that I've got quite a backlog to get through. I'd like to watch everything that I haven't before I watch old stuff.

I have a large collection so that I can watch whatever genre/title I feel like at that moment.
While I try somewhat to get through my unwatched piles, I don't stick to any set rules of when to watch anything. I might go years without re-watching anything, or I might watch my favorite titles ten times in a year.

I like to wait 3 - 4 years between re-watchings.

Re: How often do you watch your highly replayable DVD's?
At the first of the year, after staring at the collection plus the unwatched pile and realizing how long it'd been since I'd watched something I'd already seen, I decided to enact a law that would somehow help to "justify" the amount of movies I own. So - the girlfriend and I came up with Re-watch Wednesday. The only rule - it has to be something we've both seen. And it alternates each week as to who picks the movie. It's worked out very well so far.

Re: How often do you watch your highly replayable DVD's?
There are certain films that I watch only during certain times of the year.
For example, on Martin Luther King Day I'll play Song of the South
On Easter I'll play The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur
In October I'll watch Poltergeist and both Ghostbusters movies, among others.
Finally, in December Ill watch a boatload of Holiday-Themed Movies including The Polar Express, The Santa Clause, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Jingle all the way, Home Alone 1, 2 & 3, A Christmas Carol(The 1953 Version), The Original Miracle on 34th Street and, last but not least It's a Wonderful Life.
As for the other "Reruns", they will occur whenever I have a hankering to watch something for old time sake. That's one of the nicest thing about DVDs (Second only to being able to keep them after you watch them), Reruns are on YOUR Schedule!

Even though I've been trying to watch all the movies I missed when they were released, a.k.a the unwatched pile, I've seen more than a handful of the movies I own a dozen times over (The Hangover, Grown Ups, Renaissance Man, Tank, The Great Outdoors, and Animal House all come to mind). I watch whatever I want when I want to. Some titles I will purposely hold off watching until a holiday (i.e. horror movies for Halloween, holiday-themed titles for Christmas). I try to re-watch movies I normally wouldn't watch over and over again, once a year.

I'll watch Annie Hall 10 times a year, sometimes just as background noise when I'm doing other things, but its a film I always come back to. I also will throw on Flash Gordon a few times a year just because its so fun and reminds me of my youth. When I was younger I watched Clerks on VHS every weekend, I don't think I could watch a film that much over and over anymore.
As of late I find myself re-watching Scott Pilgrim vs. the World more then anything.
I've also re-watched Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, The Office (BBC), Flight of the Concords, Eastbound and Down, Trailer Park Boys and The Simpsons boxsets numerous times - more then 90% of the films I own.
I also find myself watching the Criterion Night of the Hunter blu-ray a lot, just because when people come over and tell me they haven't seen it - I feel I have to show it to them - same goes for American Movie.

Well considering I have 750 DVDs & Blu-Rays in my unwatched pile(and that doesnt even consider the fact that a good chunk of those DVDs/Blu-Rays are TV shows),I watch a certain title way to much. I watch some of my Family Guy DVDs at least 3 to 5 times a month.

I used to have the Matrix on constantly in my 100 Disc player, but since I've moved away from that, I barely ever watch anything more than once or twice.

I have a lot of titles I watch every year, especially at Christmas time I always watch It's a Wonderful Life every year no matter what. I also usually watch stuff like Bad Santa, Christmas Vacation, Rudolph, etc.
Around Halloween I usually always watch my favorite horror movies Friday the 13th, Silent Night Deadly Night, etc. I try really hard to make sure I watch Halloween ON Halloween.
Every year I usually watch Back to the Future at least once probably more. And then there's probably a ton of others I watch more than others. My smaller titles I will watch if I have a desire to watch that particular film. But a lot of my time is saved for TV shows.

Every year on Halloween, I watch The Goonies. At Christmas, I watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Throughout the year, I'll watch multiple M*A*S*H episodes. I'll throw on the Princess Bride when I want light and funny. I really try to watch my unwatched pile before rewatching too many oldies, but sometimes that is the only thing that hits the spot!
