I concur that November is a suitable month. We originally debated whether to have the TV on DVD* Challenge in November or January, and January won out on the basis that it was a down month for new TV content, and it would give participants a chance to gorge on any DVD box sets they might get for Christmas. I think it works well, and I'm glad it left November open because I think a Comedy Challenge is a nice segue from Horror to Holiday. I can expand my horror viewing into November with things like Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein, and get dual citizenship out of Home Alone at the end of the month.
As for inclusion/exclusion, I also agree that the nature of this challenge would be self-evident and should be devoid of some of the debates that generally characterize the creation of a challenge. I would definitely recommend/request a checklist, though. Just something to promote diversity and exploration of various eras, performers, sub-genres, etc. The combination of these challenges and Netflix streaming has been great, and I for one like that checklists give me somewhere to start when exploring my streaming options.

I could do a comedy challenge in November. If folks want to put together an optional checklist like the Oscar Challenge which includes some categories or important people/films within the genre, that would work.

We're overdue for the official discussion thread, eh?
The eh? is in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving.

fun challenge idea - but I'm gonna concentrate on all the DVD/blurays I haven't gotten around to watching due to the numerous challenges in the last few months (and with two film festivals also in November) I'll probably refrain.

So what day in November do we watch the Criterion version of Good Burger?
