Sweet! I picked up S2 when it got listed as going OOP, partly because it's my favorite season and partly due to going OOP. But I waited too long for S1. Oddly enough, S1 actually went OOP *before* S2, literally overnight! One day it was available, the next it was going for 2-3 times the MSRP. Anyway, now I can finally get S1 for a "reasonable" price. :D

Figures. Well, if they're the same (as in same special features) it won't make any difference to me. I just hope there's nothing new and spectacular on them so I don't have to buy them again.

The main thing I'd LOVE to see is the 1997 TV movie Hey, Hey It's the Monkees! I want to see that so badly!

So is Eagle Rock a good company? Are their concert DVDs of decent quality?

I never heard of that company and I would like to know too but I am just really glad that they are re-releasing the sets, can't wait to get them since the original I had was scratched up to hell thanks to the terrible design and would not play or skip all the time :(

I have many of their concert releases and all of them are high quality transfers,(PQ), and sound many with DTS. I've never been disappointed by any of their releases!

If only this can somehow get Criterion to release "Head" as its own disc I would buy it so fast.

So far the only extra that MIGHT get carried over is the 66 Revolutions per Monkee TV special but that's not confirmed.

The sets are now up for pre-order at Amazon for $48.99 each. Just ordered season 2 (already have the earlier season 1 Rhino release).

Thank you, I pre-ordered both sets, the cover art is not too bad! I guess it did not say anything if 33 1/2 Revolutions Per Monkee is included or not...

I read that this is the same a/v quality as the previous sets. I was hoping some remastering would be done. I don't own the Rhino sets but i keep hearing the 5.1 remixes are terrible. I may pick these up later.

The 5.1 mix on the Rhino season 1 sounds like they are in an echo chamber... totally unlistenable! I stick with the original mono.

I would sell my current sets except I got to meet Peter Tork last weekend and had him sign my season 1 DVD!

I've now met 3 of the 4 Monkees!
