Michael Mann's The Keep???

Any word on a release date on BR or DVD. Would be nice to get a 3 hour DC of this film.

Welcome to the forum. Here's a request: Please use a question mark in your thread title when you're asking a question. Otherwise people get upset because they think you're providing information about an anticipated release. Hence, I clicked into this thread but have no information to give you.

I too was hoping they'd finally released the extended version of The Keep on DVD, but no... -kd5-

Seems to have skipped the DVD market... You can watch it through Netflix w/ instant streaming.

3 hour DC? I just happened to watch this last night on Netflix....I liked it quite a bit but it was about an hour and a half....not sure I could envision this as 3 hours.

According to this guy's website, he's envisioning a 3 hr. Director's Cut as well:

From this site:

Never mind that the 25th Anniversary date has come and gone without so much as a peep... -kd5-

According to Wikipedia, I don't see how the ending of the extended version could take 81 minutes to complete unless they chopped ALOT of footage to fit the time alotted for its theatrical release:

Re: Michael Mann's The Keep???

This is sad, I watched the film as a kid and loved it. I just watched it the other night on Netflix.
If it is on Netflix with the TD soundtrack then wonder why no official release?
1984 was released with an different soundtrack.......it did change the movie without the Eurythmic's music.

I did find some info that there was a release date but it was pulled like Damnation Alley was.

DVD rights are different than tv and streaming rights. Often wondered if it has to do with manufacturing and selling a physical product.

Considering we'll never see a hi-def Thief (much less fucking anamorphic SD), forget about The Keep.

Why not?
I have the dvd and it is just like the laserdisc was all grainy.
But I've seen the movie on cable and it looks sharp & clean.

Thief is dark and probably ought to have a lot of grain - did you see the HD broadcast?

In the 90's i saw it on free t.v. and it looked better than the laserdisc.
Now what i saw this year on cable looked much better and I'm 99% sure it was HD broadcast.
