Movies Only Available in Combo Formats
Within the last month, 2 movies I was considering to buy were released in the combo blu-ray/dvd format exclusively. They were Vampire Circus from Synapse and Buried from Lionsgate. The titles are priced considerably higher than a standard DVD release and the extras are viewable in the blu-ray format only.
After years of being manipulated by these companies with their pre-planned double-dipping schemes, it looks like this will be the next way to squeeze the extra cash from consumers. Those who already went blu might not mind but us home entertainment troglodytes are now 2nd class citizens in the minds of the studios.
