Where did you get this "insider information" that they expected 500,000 copies of Night Court seasons to sell?

I agree Shout should have had a shot at this series... I really hoped they would when I heard WB was letting them release several of their shows.

But I do agree with Spottedfeather that regular pressed DVDs are prone to thse problems. There were quite a few copies of Pineapple Express on DVD that got released with sound sync problems, for example.

I am not the biggest fan of the MOD DVDs. If that's the only way I can get a title I want, so be it. But I don't think we need to trash all the titles on MOD because of one glitch like this on one title.

I ordered the set a few weeks ago and also noticed the audio and labeling problems and also chapter mark issues where instead of strategically placed chapter marks at credit sequences or commercial break spots, there were just 2 chapter marks per episode, one at the 10:00 spot and the 20:00 spot.

I contacted customer support recently regarding these issues and was told that they indeed have removed the listing from their site and are working on fixing the problems (not sure about chapter marks though). They said that I'm on the list for a re-ship when it becomes available. I suggest everyone contact customer support to make sure you get on that list (give them your order number).

Bottom line...Warner is NOT ignoring.

They were told about the errorsd October 1st 2010 and still sold the item on their site, also they failed to check the release before it was mastered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do know that when DVDs are tested, it's not some guy watching the movie from start to finish, over and over with each audio track and subtitle, right? It's more of, does the menu work, do the subs come one when selected, are all the audio tracks there. That sort of stuff.

The 10 minute chapter stops is more than likely just how the machine automatically does it when burning the disc. Mine does the same thing and it can be set to 5, 10 and 15 minutes for each chapter.

Let's just hope WB steps up to the plate and does the right thing here and fixes these issues with replacement discs or a new set or whatever they think is best for the fans who spent the money to buy this from them.

And that's retarded. I chapter all my home-made discs properly (that's half the point of my transferring old tapes to DVD, so I can skip right to the part I want instead of scanning through it), no excuse for discs from a major studio selling at these prices not to do the same. They could pay me to do it if nobody there wanted to.

for chrissakes, if they're going to "save money on the pressings" and produce "DVD-Rs with pre-set chapter marks", then I expect them not to charge commercially pressed and remastered prices.

That- otherwise I'm going to save money by not buying them.

If returning the set like I'm going to do sealed...have them send off a pre-paid label to your e-mail address so you won;t have to get stuck with the shipping charges. Hope this helps and if I hear any more on this, I'll let everyone know.

UPDATE: The folks at WBSHOP.com stated to me that whether you're requesting a full credit (including s&H) or wanting new discs to cover up the issues on the previous set, they are going to allow you to keep the original set no matter what (no need to ship it back to them, just let them know what you want to do via an e-mail) and just request either a full credit or an exchange for the newer discs. Pretty cool of them to do that! I asked for the full credit on the set.

That is certainly cool for the customers. Of course now a slew of defective sets are going to be flying all over eBay from the pricks who decide to screw somebody else with their "extra" discs but I suppose there's not much that can be done about that.

Just to note, Amazon has the DVD box sets of seasons 2 & 3 selling for $13.99 each. The first season is $12.99. I ordered the third season and it's currently enroute despite the listing stating 1 to 4 weeks. Great prices.

Even better price: Sam's Club has Seasons 1-3 for $11.88 each.

Better if you are willing to pay for their membership. I will take the amazon.com deal.

Has there been any word from Warner Brothers about relisting Season 4? I was hoping they'd fix the problems and put it back up.

Supposedly some of the episodes were edited syndicated versions and they don't have, or can't find unedited versions of those episodes. Unless they can find them it won't come back out.
