Not much to report yet. But apparently coming in November.
From the San Diego Comic Con website:
Hopefully it won't be a white wash.

on paper anyways, if this is a definitive doc (that has interviews with Bob Kane, Allan Moore, Jerry Schuster ect) then its a must have, if its mainly shit that most fans already know, then no,

Somehow, I doubt this documentary will discuss how mobbed up the founders of DC Comics were. Everyone should read Gerard Jones' Men of Tomorrow for all the chicanery behind the scenes -- the bootlegging, the pornography, how Bob Kane was able to renegotiate his contract while Siegel and Shuster weren't, the kinky world view of William Moulton Marston, etc.

Wait a second. Ryan Reynolds is Green Lantern ? Which one ? He doesn't look like any Green Lantern I know of. He doesn't look like Kyle Raynor nor does he look like Hal Jordan, the best of the Lanterns.

I assume by Jerry Schuster you mean Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Both men passed away some time ago, as has Bob Kane. As for Alan Moore, it would probably be less difficult for them to secure interviews with dead men.

It would be nice if they set the record straight and give BILL FINGER a Co-Creator credit on "BATMAN".

Legally, I don't think they can do that. They can probably mention it in the course of an interview but in the long run (and as sad as it is), Bill Finger will never get a Co-Created by-line.

I see this is announced as a bonus disc in the Batman Beyond complete series set... I wonder if it will get a standalone release...

Look like November 9th:
More from the SDCC panel:
Comic Book Resources
Warner Home Entertainment and DC Comics premiered their new documentary film “Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics” at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The film, which will be released this November straight to DVD, chronicles the 75-year history of DC Comics.
The moderator who introduced the movie and later ran a discussion panel was DC’s Senior VP - Creative Affairs Gregory Noveck, who has produced several of the publisher's animated features as well as the new documentary. He called the film “a movie that’s been 75 years in the making!” He also revealed the movie will be on DVD, Blu-Ray and also downloadable on November 9th, 2010.

Why don't they just call it The Batman/Superman Story? According to them-nobody cares about their superheroes besides Batman and Superman and thats why they over-saturate the market with them.

Couldn't this just be a special feature on one of those animated movies they put out? They generally have some history retrospective thing on those.

Re: Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics - November 2010
DC Comics is celebrating their 75th Anniversary Documentary with a documentary chronicling the story of the comic book company. Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics is directed by Jeffrey Blitz, the filmmaker responsible for one of my favorite documentary films Spellbound, and the Sundance coming of age movie Rocket Science (which is the film that really put Anna Kendrick on the map for filmmakers, before films like Up in the Air and the Twilight series). The official synopsis doesn’t reveal much:
An expansive documentary exploring the 75 years of DC Comics, the memorable characters of its universe and the talented artists and writers who brought them to life.
