Re: Screamers widescreen (ORIGINAL VERSION)

I only bought it (the flipper) because it was based on a Philip K. Dick story, but it turned out to be a pretty good purchase.

Good luck finding that flipper disc. As I was saying before, I looked high & low for a widescreen version of this movie and never found it. Bought the version you've opted to send back, I'm happy with mine. -kd5-

Re: Screamers widescreen (ORIGINAL VERSION)

Something else to watch out for is that Sony has also been releasing dvds where the cover reads Side A - Widescreen and Side B - Full Screen. You open it and it's a one sided disc, FF only. I've had this happened to "Buddy" starring Rene Russo and "Armed and Dangerous" starring John Candy. The only place you're gonna find the flipper of Screamers is at a pawn shop, flea market, and ebay type sites. Once in a while, you might get lucky in a regular store. Big Lots has had some of the flippers that went OOP and are now FF only.

I got lucky by watching it in theater and it turned out way better than I thought it would. When it first got released on dvd, I bought it and sold my VHS copy.

I went to your link and clicked on the screamers DVD ......it shows the same upc code as the DVD that I purchased and had to return, as it was a single sided disc with the "full-screen" version on it......the web-site has since written an apology via e-mail admitting that they misrepresented their description of the movie on their web-site. You must have gotten extremely lucky........I just resorted to buying a PAL version on ebay from Austalia, I will try to get a region free hack to work on my DVD player. I wish this movie would be re-issued on Blu-Ray.....every sucky movie on the planet already has....why not an amazingly under-rated movie like this?
