What "blind buy" do you most regret?

Re: What "blind buy" do you most regret?

As for my buyer's remorse, I actually wasn't too hot on "Tropic Thunder" - and Tom Cruise's Les Grossman reprise at the MTV movie awards makes me want to revist it even less. "Sherlock Holmes" on BD was another purchase I wish I'd held off on until the movie premiered on cable.

My sentiments exactly. I might be in the minority but I tend to like everything that i own. I guess can find any redeeming quality in all the films I own. Then again I don't own a lot of films mentioned in this thread.

I Heart Huckabees - I'm sure there was a point to that movie, but I couldn't be bothered to try to figure it out and I sure as hell wasn't going to give it a second chance.

well I got lot of DVD I regret but I can't recall and my DVD that I regret is Halloween 2 & 3 (w/ double feature). ok I seen Halloween 2 (1981 but NOT Rob Zombie's sequel) before and I like it and that I blind-buy is Halloween 3: Season Of the Witch that I dissapoint and sux without Michael Myers. so since I rid of that DVD and I brought single DVD of Halloween 2 (1981).

Too many to mention as 95% of all my purchases are blind buys..
but one of the more unusual disappointments as "the third man." I am a HUGE Film Noir fan- I would rather watch a mediocre film noir than a good drama. That film is so famous, it makes the top 100 greatest films, and one of the greatest noirs ever made. it has joseph cotten, orson welles..
And I thought it was the most boring, pretentious, predictable film with the single most annoying soundtrack I have ever heard.
I figured out the whole film within the first 5 minutes, there was no suspense, romance, comedy - nothing to keep my interest. Plus, not sure who categorized this as a Noir film, anyhow.. there was no femme fatale, no real murder (well, if you seen the film you know what I mean)... and I thought the famous sewer scene was done infinitely better in Anthony Mann's "he walks by night."
I couldn't believe how much I disliked this film. I got the Criterion (Great transfer) and watched it FIVE TIMES, hoping it would grow on me.
it didn't. and I sold it...
I think of all my blind buys, this was the one that surprised me the most.

Suspiria, never got all the love for this one. To me it was pure crap and I do like other films by Argento just can't get into it. I had it on ebay right after I watched it.

Night Train (1999) directed by Les Bernstien ,I had read some very good reviews about this one and being a huge fan of Film Noir I picked it up.
Bad mistake ...I love B-Noir but this was more like Z Noir just really bad acting and even the B&W photography looked all washed out as if they shot it on a camcorder.
I thought the whole movie was done in really bad taste.

That seems to be one of those films that people either love or hate. I thought it was hilarious. Pure character-driven film. If you can't relate or empathize with the characters, you're not gonna like it. Favorite line of the film - When Napoleon is counting his money (in change) from his chicken job - "Six dollars. That's like a dollar an hour..."
Finally caught The Hangover on HBO. Kind of difficult for it to live up to all of the hype. Not the funniest film I've ever seen, but I was laughing and watched it again when my buddy came over.

Shoot 'Em Up.
Not even Monica Bellucci could save this one.
I gave it to my son.

I blind bought that one too! I usually like everything Synapse puts out. I can't say I regret getting it, but it was very underwhelming and I'll probably never watch it again. It was like a student film. The "How to make a Caesar Salad" extra was kind of interesting though.
