The Edge new release / ?anamorphic

Does anyone know if the new release today of the film 'The Edge' with Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins is anamorphic or not? I have the previous letterboxed non anamorphic edition and would be happy to upgrade if it is. Thanks-

If you're trying to be helpful, no such luck. But the opposite is true if you substitute "smarmy" for "helpful".
still works for me. maybe only works with me logged in, which seems odd.

I assume you're talking about the DVD? I looked on Amazon and all I see are the older ones. The only new one coming out is the Blu-ray, in which case is the proper 16x9 transfer.

DVDEmpire has a new release of SD version released on 5/11 but does not list it as anything! Usually they are pretty good at listing anamorphic titles. I checked IMDB and they didn't show a listing for the new release- I am still searching for an answer before I upgrade as I want this title in 16 X 9!

Who knows. Could be a simple re-release of the same disc just with a new cover and lower SRP. Wouldn't be the first time for Fox. BTW, I looked at DVD Empire and it says Full Screen for it, not that it means anything...

Re: The Edge new release / ?anamorphic

Just picked up THE EDGE on Blu-ray. This film has never looked better, and it's worth getting even though it has NO extras.

However, there is a problem which pretty much pisses me off. The very end scene prior to the credits fades to black a bit prematurely on the Blu-ray, compared to the standard DVD and most broadcasts I've seen of the movie. It matters because the ending close-up of the main character has some emotional resonance, which is now forever lost on Blu-ray. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll know what I'm talking about.
