Although not yet noted in the DVD Talk upcoming release list, the final volume in Sony's 3 Stooges Collection, Vol. 8, 1955 - 1959 is listed on DVD Empire and Amazon as being released on 6/1/2010. Kudos to Sony for following through with this collection and releasing ALL 190 3 Stooges shorts including the Joe Besser years, beautifully remastered and in chronological order.

Now Sony, all we need are the solo Shemp shorts, and the 3 Stooges movies to get the same treatment.

I got vol.1 & 2 of the cartoons. Wasn't that the whole collection?

There is no definitive Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Sony themselves have never officially released the cartoons. They're in the public domain which is why there are so many different types of releases.
