Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I forgot the High Flyers set came out today - maybe I'll pick that up this weekend from Wal-Mart. Hopefully I'll have finished the entire Jericho set by then - Disc 1 was fantastic.

No insert for me either. I was gonna take it back, but I guess there's probably no point now. Oh well, I'll just make my own

I dont care about Inserts because I always replace the Digi-Paks with scans of the box fitted for a standard size triple amaray case

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

im guessing no one got inserts, as i didn't get one either. I noticed on the box it mentions that all matches are "complete". Anyone dig through the set yet to see if this is true? As for like the tv matches, they usually throw a commercial break in and therefore clip the match

Highspots has a three disc set of Hogan in Japan. I picked it up a couple years ago, it's pretty good.

usually i wouldn't bitch at a lack of an insert, but this time its deserved. Becuase for the Highest flyers set, the matches are not shown in order of date.

When they say complete, I assume they mean it won't be highlights, and it will have the entrances included. The TV matches will have the commercial cut black screen for a second, rather than the extra footage added becuase there won't be any commentary to go with it.

true. Oh and i noticed that they mute the crowd with generic crowd noise, during the 'you fucked up' chant toward the end of the 3 way one night stand match. I can def understand why (pg product) but i figure its worth mentioning.

Looks like Best Buy is NOT getting Hell In A Cell or Bragging Rights on Blu-Ray. They have pre-orders up for Survivor Series and The John Cena Experience, both listed as Best Buy exclusives, but no sign of the other two releases.

Wonder if Canada is actually getting it then, or if this will be like the 2009 RAW set where it never sees the light of day.

Agreed. An insert is really needed for a set like this.

Bad time to say a future 3 Disc WWE DVD doesn't have an insert either?

Why the hell do they keep including the cardboard insert holders, then? This is stupid... perhaps Silver Vision in the UK can sort it out and produce their own inserts.

I had no luck. Pretty strange actually.

I went to Walmart and they had the shelf space with the $28.88 price tag but nothing there. I asked an associate and he said they never received it yet. Future Shop, Best Buy and HMV didn't have it either.

There was probably some shipping delay or something.

Why is everyone saying the WWE is a "PG product" now? It's Rated G, not PG. You can swear in PG movies. There's blood in PG movies too.

What also kinda pisses me off too, is that for the Jericho set, while it is PG-L, the only swear word allowed is Ass, so words like 'bitch, bastard, piss, slut and ho are bleeped. Its really evident in the 15 minute "after Raw" bit with Jericho and Steve Austin

I am just glad the haven't started editing blood out of matches that have it or turning the screen B/W

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

WWE is rated TV-PG, not G, it's just a very, very low-level PG show. Burn Notice pushes the limits of what a PG show can show and say with his bikini-clad chicks and "goddamns" in dialogue, while WWE plays it safe for the sake of the sponsorship deals it landed by promising a toned-down product.

WWE did turn the screen black and white during blood during 24/7 a while back, but thankfully stopped doing that for shows. There's also a brief clip on the Jericho set where that happens, and a "WWF" scratch logo slipped in as well.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Not sure if any one has seen these yet but I figured some of you collectors would like them.

WWE DVD Heroes:

wwedvdnews com/exclusive-photos-wwe-mattel-flex-force-dvd-heroes-set-wwe-championship-dvd-set/4236/

I found them at Toys R Us and they had a sticker saying only available there (and thru third party sellers on amazon) The discs are roughly 23 minutes according to the back and it says it contains backstage interviews and matches.

I had the same experience in Ottawa (except there was no place holder for the price at Walmart). Likely late due to holiday Monday.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I am sure that back in 2003 and 2004 that us Canadian's didn't get the dvd released the same day that the American's did. The Rise & Fall of ECW didn't hit stores near me until December and it was released two months before that in the USA, same with the first Ric Flair 3 disc dvd set. Then from like 2005 - recently we have been getting the dvd releases the same time, but lately it seems that we are lacking on getting things on time again. Sometimes it sucks to be Canadian when it comes to things like this... but I do enjoy that health care we have!

Is the free health care directly related to producing great wrestlers?

on the flipside my Walmart had the Jericho disc a week early

Actually all stores had the Jericho DVD out early; Future Shop, HMV, Walmart, Amazon.ca, etc.

The original release date for the set was Sept. 21, then pushed to 28th. Stores in Canada probably didn't update the system.

Usually it's impossible to buy a DVD or video game before street date at Future shop or Best buy. It always has a message that comes up saying "not to sell before XXX date". Didn't have that issue when getting the Jericho DVD.
