Alice in Wonderland Un-Anniversary Edition

I looked and looked everywhere so I hope nobody yells at me for starting a new thread...

I was wondering if anybody out there more obsessive than me knew if the new edition of Alice in Wonderland that came out today is a considerable upgrade from the edition put out in 2004. I know there is a "new" deleted scene, but was wondering if it is a significant amount of extras to warrant the double dip.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Go here for list of the special features and new extras.

IMO I am not that impressed if you are planning to upgrade from Masterpiece Edition. If you are upgrading from Gold Edition, then yes it is worth it.

I prefer to wait for the Blu-ray eventually. HTH!

What's new besides that deleted scene? Anything?

This is just a poorly planned release to serve as a tie-in for the Johnny Depp film. Disney should have waited until they had the Blu-ray ready.

I know it's a tie in but it's released nearly a month AFTER the new film. So it's poorly planned all over.

Just the deleted scene and one featurette. Otherwise, same as Masterpiece Edition. They do boast a new transfer, but since I didn't purchase it I am unsure if it is any better than previous edition. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

Glad I kept my Masterpiece Edition

Well, I haven't bought it yet, so assuming the transfer's better, then I'll go with this one.

I would have rather had a Blu-Ray release to go with it, quite frankly.

I concur. With all the Disney re-releases with Blu-ray/DVD combo, I don't know why they didn't do it with this one. I'll wait for Blu-ray or bite when the price of this goes on sale.
