DVD Collection Epiphany

Re: DVD Collection Epiphany
I realised after buying sixteen seasons of Star Trek on the cheap recently that its probably going to take me more than a year to watch all of them. But on the plus side I am also in no hurry to pick up the other eight seasons I am missing cheaply. After I get through them it will probably take me another five years before I want to watch them again.
Actually my watching patterns are probably very different to you people. I buy a couple of movies that I have really enjoyed and watch them about five times. Then buy another couple of movies and watch them. I would then regularly revisit a lot of movies every few years. If a DVD has really good special features I usually watch them again when I watch the movie. Like for example I always watch "More Things That Happened" after I watch Inland Empire. Another favourite special feature is short films that come with the movie - which get a lot of repeat viewing from me as well.
I also like buying director boxsets and working my way through them. You can see almost all of Almodovar's movies from the three boxsets from the UK, I have also enjoyed their large Russ Meyer box, and I'm currently working my way through twenty five Fassbinder movies from the four boxsets they have on offer. Actually I will probably have these boxes on repeat for a while until I find something else to interest me!

Re: DVD Collection Epiphany
The only regret I have is buying something, having it sit in my collection for several years unwatched and then see it at a fraction of the price I paid for it.
the only "epiphany" I got is if you don't want to watch it NOW, don't buy it unless you are getting very cheaply (or it's limited edition thing). In all my years of collecting the only movie I "had" to have on release day was Spider-man.
My collection is well over 5000 discs (in Profiler so I don't know the actual # of individual sets). I have over a 1000 unwatched (blame Big Lots and big lots on ebay for that)
